1. The Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar addressed the faculty and students of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) in Mumbai. All the nine candidates of BJP-led coalition won in the election for 11 seats of Maharashtra Legislative council biennial elections held yesterday. 5. The Karnataka Government has decided to appeal against the Cauvery Water Regulatory Committee order to release Cauvery River water to Tamilnadu.

1. The Supreme Court yesterday granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal in the money laundering case linked to the alleged liquor policy scam.

2. Enforcement Directorate on Friday arrested former state Minister and Congress leader B Nagendra in connection with a money laundering probe linked to alleged irregularities in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Limited.

3. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has demanded the withdrawal of the Uttar Pradesh government’s recent order directing that all students in unrecognised madrasas and non-Muslim students studying in government-aided madrasas should be shifted to government schools.

4. Probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar, who is at the centre of a controversy over alleged misuse of power and privileges, may be terminated from service if found guilty.

5. The Patna high court on Friday granted the Central Bureau of Investigation the custody of 13 people arrested by the Bihar police in connection with NEET-UG paper leak case.

6. The Andhra Pradesh Police registered an “attempt-to-murder” case against former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, two senior IPS officers and two retired officials, following a complaint lodged by a TDP MLA.

1. Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has suggested that the unpopular “angel tax” on startups should be gotten rid of. This could be announced in the Union Budget. The DPIIT secretary stated that a proposal to get rid of the tax has been made. The goal is to make it easier for startups to get funding and make them more appealing to investors.

Angel tax is a tax that private companies have to pay on raised money that is more than their fair market value.

2. Punjab National Bank (PNB) has introduced ‘Safety Ring,’ a new optional security feature for internet and mobile banking. This mechanism allows customers to set daily transaction limits.

3. Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund has launched the Kotak BSE PSU Index Fund, a passive equity scheme that replicates the performance of the BSE PSU Index comprising 56 PSU stocks.
