1. The Income-Tax Bill, 2025 is scheduled to be introduced in the Lok Sabha today. The Bill, which is aimed at consolidating and amending the law relating to income-tax, has been listed in the business of the House.
2. The Report of the Joint Committee on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 is also scheduled to be tabled in the Lok Sabha tomorrow which is the last day of the first part of the Budget Session of Parliament.
3. The Vande Bharat train from Katra to Kashmir will run from 17 February 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Sangaldan-Riyasi track from Katra. After this, the Vande Bharat train service will start directly from Katra to Srinagar.
4. The government has approved the implementation of the transportation component of the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) in view of the falling prices of tomatoes in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and other major producing states.

7. Union Minister for Textiles Giriraj Singh inaugurated Bharat TEX 2025, India’s largest global textile event, at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The second edition of the Bharat Tex is taking place in two venues—at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, from 12th to 15th of February and at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from 14th to 17th of this month.
8. Karnataka has revealed its new industrial policy for 2025-30. This policy aims to attract ₹7.5 lakh crore in investments and create 20 lakh new jobs.
9. Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil has said that the Jal Shakti Ministry will take effective steps to improve the groundwater level in the dark zone blocks of Haryana. He informed that various blocks of about 150 districts across the country have come into the dark zone, including Haryana.
10. The Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme aims to support minority communities in India. Launched by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, it targets the socio-economic upliftment of six notified minority groups. These groups include Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis. The programme seeks to ensure equal opportunities for these communities in education, employment, and infrastructure development.
11. The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have achieved milestone in semiconductor technology. They have developed and successfully tested an aerospace-quality SHAKTI-based semiconductor chip named IRIS (Indigenous RISCV Controller for Space Applications).

The Uttarakhand government has declared one Adarsh Sanskrit Village in each of the 13 districts of the state for preservation and promotion of the ancient Indian language. “Devvani (language of the gods) Sanskrit is the second official language of the state and for its preservation and promotion.
13. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri participates in India Energy Week in New Delhi. He said that India’s share in global energy consumption is expected to nearly double by 2050, reinforcing its strategic influence in energy trade.
14. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata gets Automated Weather Observing System. The AWOS sensors will collect all the met parameters like temperature, wind speed and shear, relative humidity, runway visibility range and cloud height from six observing stations installed at six met parks along the runway at Kolkata Airport.
15. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences over the demise of Mahant Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple.
16. Shab-e-Barat is set to be observed from the evening of Thursday, February 13, until the evening of Friday, February 14, as per the Hijri calendar. 1. The 12th All India Pension Adalat will be held in New Delhi today. Minister of State for the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh, will preside over the event. The 12th Pension Adalat will focus on the resolution of long-outstanding pension cases.
2. The CBI-led SIT’s probe found that the Tamil Nadu-based AR Dairy Pvt. Ltd., accused of supplying adulterated ghee to the Tirumala temple to prepare sacred Laddu prasadam, had procured the cow ghee from a Uttarakhand-based dairy and supplied it to TTD for a commission of Rs 2.75 to Rs 3 per kilogram of ghee.
3. The officers of the Thane CGST Commissionerate, under the CGST Mumbai Zone, have busted a fake GST invoice racket involving fraudulent transactions worth 140 crore rupees and arrested one person from Thane. The operation was designed to avail a fraudulent Input Tax Credit (ITC) amounting to 26.92 crore rupees.
4. A Delhi court on Wednesday held former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar guilty of murder in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case in connection with the murder of two persons in the Saraswati Vihar area of the national capital.

1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that it will soon issue ₹50 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series bearing the signature of Governor Sanjay Malhotra. The design of these notes will remain unchanged and will be similar in all respects to the existing ₹50 banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series. Furthermore, all previously issued ₹50 banknotes by the Reserve Bank will continue to be legal tender.
2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has lifted the business restrictions imposed on Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited after the bank addressed supervisory concerns and implemented necessary remedial measures.
On 24 April 2024, the RBI directed the bank to cease onboarding new customers through its online and mobile banking channels and to stop issuing fresh credit cards.
3. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has advised all agency banks to keep all their branches dealing with government business open on 31 March 2025.

2. All Indian Cine Workers Association demands immediate ban on India’s Got Latent after Ranveer Allahbadia episode. Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia has found himself in soup after he appeared on India’s Got Latent, which features Samay Raina. He has been receiving huge backlash for his inappropriate comments during the latest YouTube episode of the show. Cine Workers Association demanded that the show must be terminated without delay to prevent further dissemination of its toxic ideology.
3. Comedian Samay Raina on Wednesday said he has removed all episodes of “India’s Got Latent” from his YouTube channel, days after the show landed in a controversy over a remark by influencer Ranveer Allahbadia. “India’s Got Latent”, which started in June 2024, had aired 18 episodes till now.

1. Air Marshal Sandeep Thareja Assumes Charge as Director General Medical Services (Air).
2. The Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 2,458.84 crore with four leading aerospace and defence companies at Aero India 2025 in Bengaluru.
3. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the procurement of 28 EON-51 Electro Optical Fire Control Systems (EOFCS) for the Indian Navy. The agreement, valued at Rs 642.17 crore (inclusive of taxes), was signed on 8 February.
4. At the Aero India 2025 show in Bangalore, India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) showcased a new 155 mm ramjet projectile designed for Bharat Forge Limited’s (BFL’s) 155 mm/52 calibre Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS).
5. Godrej & Boyce’s aerospace unit has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) to develop Flight Control Actuators for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA).This collaboration builds upon Godrej’s 20-year partnership with ADA in developing components for flight-critical DDV-based servo actuators.
6. The Ministry of Defence has signed two contracts worth Rs 10,147 crore to procure advanced ammunition for the Pinaka multi-launch rocket system, reinforcing India’s self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
The contracts, awarded to Nagpur-based Economic Explosives Limited and Pune-based Munitions India Limited, were finalised after clearance from the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) last week.
