1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a visit to Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman from the 15th of this month.

2. The Government approves budget of over 11,700 crore rupees for conducting Census of India 2027. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, Census 2027 will be conducted in two phases. Census 2027 will be the 16th in the series and 8th since Independence.

3. Union Cabinet hikes MSP for copra by 445 rupees per quintal for season 2026; Clears reforms in coal linkage policy, CoalSETU.

4. Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu has said that the government is going to start a programme to make aircraft in the country. He stressed that the country should have Made-in-India aircraft to meet the growing demand in the aviation sector.

5. The Election Commission, has appointed Special Roll Observers (SROs) for observing the Special Intensive Revision of the Electoral Rolls in eight major states, including West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerala. The poll body said, SROs have already begun their work and are expected to be present two days a week in these States until the final Electoral Rolls are published in February 2026.

6. Sikkim Legislative Assembly grants Scheduled Tribe status to twelve communities.

7. Meghalaya has taken a significant step towards environmental conservation and sustainable development with the inauguration of Soil Lake at Williamnagar in East Garo Hills district. Developed under the Nengsang River Valley Project, the initiative seeks to rejuvenate a critical waterbody while promoting eco-tourism and enhancing the region’s ecological resilience amid growing climate challenges.

8. Chhattisgarh has marked a significant environmental milestone with the declaration of the Kopra Reservoir in Bilaspur district as the state’s first Ramsar Site. The recognition places Kopra on the global list of wetlands of international importance, highlighting the state’s growing role in biodiversity conservation and sustainable water management.

9. Union Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday paid tributes to freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, describing him as a writer as well as a fighter who laid the foundation of Cultural Nationalism. Mr Shah was speaking at an event in Sri Vijayapuram, Andaman and Nicobar on the completion of 115 years of a collection of Savarkar’s poems, ‘Sagara Prana Talamalla’.

10. 20th Session of UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage concluded at Red Fort in New Delhi yesterday.

11. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu visited Senapati district of Manipur yesterday and inaugurated six different development projects implemented in the district. She also laid foundation stones for five other development projects for the district.

12. The government has approved the change in nomenclature of the flagship employment scheme MGNREGA to Pujya Bapu Gramin Rozgar Guarantee Yojana (PBGRGY). Sources also said the government had increased the number of minimum guaranteed employment days under the scheme from 100 to 125. The daily wages have been increased from Rs 205 to Rs 240 per day.

13. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with several ministers, will participate in the Congress’ ‘Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod’ maha-rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on December 14. The protest is aimed at highlighting what the party describes as large-scale “vote theft” and manipulation of electoral processes by the BJP and the Election Commission.

14. Senior Congress leader and former Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil passed away in Latur at the age of 91 yesterday. President Smt Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have condoled the demise of former Union Minister Shivraj Patil.

15. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast severe cold wave conditions over North Interior Karnataka for the next two days. Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka and Odisha till 14th of this month.

1. Former Special Intelligence Branch (SIB) chief of Telangana, T. Prabhakar Rao, surrendered before Jubilee Hills police on Friday (December 12, 2025), complying with directions issued by the Supreme Court in the ongoing phone tapping investigation.

2. In Chhattisgarh, ten Maoists surrendered including six women cadres in Sukma district yesterday.

3. Commission for Air Quality Management forms expert committee under IIT Madras Professor to develop strategy to tackle vehicular pollution in Delhi-NCR.

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has constituted an Expert Committee in NCR and Adjoining Areas to develop a robust, multi-pronged roadmap for emission reduction in the vehicular sector.

4. A total of one thousand 184 hospitals have been de-empanelled for fraudulent activities under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav said, penalties amounting to over 231 crore have also been levied against fraudulent entities.

5. In Assam, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Assam Police has submitted a 3,500-page chargesheet in the case concerning the death of singer Zubeen Garg before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Guwahati. The case, initially registered by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), is being probed under sections related to criminal conspiracy.

6. Telangana is all set to escalate its battle with Andhra Pradesh over the latter’s proposed Banakacharla-Nallamalasagar link project (BNLP), drawing up plans to approach the Supreme Court to stall it.

1. India, France and the United Arab Emirates have begun a trilateral air combat exercise over the Arabian Sea aimed at enhancing military interoperability and strengthening security cooperation.

2. Surya Command has congratulated Colonel Govind and Subedar Saudagar of the Central Command Signals Regiment (CCSR) for being recognised at InnoYoddha 2025 for their groundbreaking innovation Suryasthra—an AI-enabled, renewable-energy-powered drone detection system designed to bolster situational awareness in the battlespace.

3. Indian Army Deploys CheyTac M200 for Extreme-Range Sniping Along LoC: The Indian Army has begun deploying the CheyTac M200 Intervention sniper rifle with elite units along the line of control, which is among the world’s most capable extreme long-range sniper systems exceeding 3,000 meters.

4. The Indian Navy will induct DSC A20, the first vessel of the indigenously designed Diving Support Craft series, at Kochi on 16 December 2025. The commissioning under Southern Naval Command marks a major boost to underwater operations and highlights growing self-reliance in naval shipbuilding.

5. Indian Navy & Coast Guard ALH Dhruv Fleet to Get Critical Swashplate Bearing Upgrade Before Return to Service:* All 28 Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard Dhruv helicopters are expected to return to service in about 6 months after undergoing manufacturing upgrades to the non-rotating swashplate bearing following recommendations from the defect investigation committee.

6. On 13 December 2025, the Indian Military Academy (IMA), located in Dehradun, will celebrate its most cherished and emotional event: The Passing Out Parade (POP). This event represents far more than a parade. Rather, it signifies an important milestone in the development of Gentleman Cadets as they become commissioned officers in the Indian Army after months of rigorous training.

DRDO’s Virupaksha AESA Radar for Super Sukhoi Optimized for Stealth Fighter Detection: Engineers are tuning the signal processing and waveforms of the Virupaksha radar to improve detection of stealth aircraft even in clean configurations, with the radar able to detect stealth fighters from 250 km early enough to allow the SU-30 to launch long-range missiles from safe standoff distances.

8. The Indian Air Force intends to induct 12 tankers including six converted Boeing 767 tankers and six new build tankers, with Airbus preparing to reenter with its A330 platform but facing stiff competition from Boeing’s KC-46A Pegasus and the HAL-Israel Aerospace Industries plan to convert Boeing 767 into tankers.
