1. 1. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Kochi questioned George Alexander Muthoot, MD of Muthoot Group, in a money-laundering case. The ED’s action stems from Kerala Police FIRs alleging investors were lured with high returns on fixed deposits and NCDs, with funds allegedly diverted to Srei Equipment Finance Limited, misrepresented as a sister concern. Investors faced non-repayment, leading to allegations of fraud.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will issue a show cause notice to the party MLA Sangram Jagtap for his purported remarks on Deepavali shopping, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said on Saturday (October 11, 2025). The NCP chief was responding to media reports accusing Mr. Jagtap of appealing to people to buy exclusively from Hindu shopkeepers and traders.

1. The Naval Anti‑Ship Missile – Medium Range (NASM‑MR) has reached a significant program milestone with the completion of its integration on the Indian Navy’s MiG‑29K carrier‑borne fighter.
2. The Indian Navy and the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom have commenced their first-ever joint Carrier Strike Group (CSG) operations as part of Exercise KONKAN-25. The exercise began off India’s western coast on October 5 and is continuing in the Western Indian Ocean.
This milestone event marks the debut of simultaneous operations involving India’s INS Vikrant Carrier Battle Group and the UK’s HMS Prince of Wales-led Carrier Strike Group at sea.
3. The Indian Navy has commissioned a state-of-the-art static firing facility named “Trinetra” near Visakhapatnam, specifically at Naval Station Bheemunipatnam. This facility was inaugurated on October 8, 2025, by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command.Trinetra has been indigenously designed and developed, marking a significant step toward self-reliance (“Atmanirbharta”) in the testing of naval weapon systems.

India and Czechia convened the 7th Joint Defence Committee (JDC) meeting in Prague from October 7 to 9, 2025, to expand bilateral cooperation in defence and strategic domains.The meeting, announced by India’s Ministry of Defence, was aimed at strengthening defence industrial collaboration, deepening military training partnerships, and exploring new areas of joint engagement.

Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), one of Asia’s largest tank manufacturers based in Avadi, Chennai, is set to complete the design and development of its fully indigenous Bharat Light Tank by the end of this year, 2025.The company expects to roll out the first prototype of this lightweight tank by the end of 2026.

7. According to media reports, Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) is establishing an Advanced Iron Bird Test Facility dedicated to the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program. This facility is designed as a ground-based system that replicates the aircraft’s subsystems to simulate real-world operational flight conditions.

India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is set to begin flight testing of the Rudram-3, a high-speed air-launched missile developed under the Next-Generation Anti-Radiation Missile (NGARM) program. The missile, designed for integration with the Su-30MKI fighter platform, marks India’s entry into the class of hypersonic precision-strike weapons.
