1. President Droupadi Murmu has said that doctors and researchers have a big role to play in ensuring a healthy society. Addressing the 1st Convocation of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Bathinda.

8. The Government has extended duty-free import of Urad Daal for another year until March 31, next year. Myanmar is the main exporting country of Urad to India. Besides Myanmar, India imports Urad from Singapore, Thailand, and Brazil.
9. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that Northeast students will not need to leave their region for work and they will get employment opportunities there. Mr. Shah said this while addressing the students from the Northeast at Youth Parliament organised by Students’ Experience in Inter-State Living (SEIL) in New Delhi.
10. On International Women’s Day 2025, the newly elected BJP government in Delhi launched the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana. This scheme aims to provide financial support to women from economically weaker sections. Each eligible woman will receive ₹2,500 monthly.
11. The United Nations Statistical Commission has recently adopted a new indicator known as Minimum Dietary Diversity (MDD). This indicator aims to track progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 2, which focuses on achieving zero hunger by 2030.

1. The government banned two terror outfits Awami Action Committee AAC and Jammu and Kashmir Ittihadul Muslimeen JKIM. Both groups have been declared as unlawful association by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. It said members of the groups have been involved in supporting terrorist activities and anti-India propaganda for fuelling secessionism in Jammu and Kashmir.
2. Recently, the Maharashtra government announced the establishment of a Media Monitoring Centre. This initiative aims to scrutinise media reports across various platforms, including print, electronic, and social media. The centre will operate under the Directorate of Information and Public Relations.
3. The Sharavathi pumped storage hydroelectric project (PSHP) in Karnataka has sparked controversy. The project aims to generate 2,000 MW of electricity while also supplying drinking water to Bengaluru. However, it faces fierce opposition from environmentalists and local communities concerned about ecological damage to the Western Ghats.
4. The charitable trust that runs Mumbai’s well-known Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday alleged that funds to the tune of over Rs 1,500 crore were misappropriated by its former trustees and other related individuals. Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust has lodged separate complaints with the Enforcement Directorate and at the Bandra police station in this regard.
