1. President Droupadi Murmu attended the Jal Mahotsav 2026 event in New Delhi yesterday.

2. PM Modi launched various development projects worth over 16 thousand crore rupees in Keralam and Tamil Nadu yesterday.

3. The Union Government has approved the renovation of the historic Bascule Bridge at the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata. Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal cleared the project with an estimated cost of ₹117.54 crore.

4. The Delhi Cantonment Board has launched Swachhata Monitoring and Automated Reporting Tool (SMART) for enhanced effectiveness and transparency in the monitoring of sanitation and civic services across the cantonment area.

5. NITI Aayog, released the second annual edition of the Fiscal Health Index 2026 in New Delhi. The report highlights several policy priorities for strengthening fiscal health across states.

6. Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh launched Bharat Tex 2026 in New Delhi. The third edition of the event will be held from 14th to 17th of July this year at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.

7. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated the 40th edition of the AAHAR International Food and Hospitality Fair in New Delhi. The event is being organised jointly by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) and the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) from 10 to 14 March 2026.

8. Nagauri Pan Methi from Rajasthan’s Nagaur district receives PPVFRA patent under the community farmers variety category. The recognition grants legal rights to farmers and protects the crop from biopiracy while boosting prospects for GI tag and exports.

9. Chhattisgarh government has approved the draft of Freedom of Religion Bill, 2026. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held in Raipur. The proposed legislation aims to effectively curb religious conversions carried out through force, inducement, fraudulent means, undue influence or misrepresentation while converting from one religion to another in the state.

10. The Union Cabinet has approved a revised cost of ₹3,630.77 crore for a 31.42 km greenfield connectivity project linking the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway with Jewar International Airport. The corridor will improve connectivity across Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

1. The Lok Sabha negated the Opposition’s resolution seeking the removal of Speaker Om Birla with a voice vote yesterday. Replying to the discussion in the House, Senior BJP leader and Home Minister Amit Shah said, it is unfortunate that the integrity of the Speaker has been questioned by the opposition.

2. New CCPA Guidelines Set to Curb False Advertising, Ensure Consumer Protection : The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has issued guidelines mandating due diligence for endorsements and prescribing conditions for advertisements to prevent misleading claims.

3. In its first-ever order allowing passive euthanasia, Supreme Court has permitted the withdrawal of artificial life support of a 32-year-old man who has been in a comatose condition for more than 12 years.

The Supreme Court of India has permitted passive euthanasia in the Harish Rana case, reigniting debate on end-of-life medical decisions. The ruling highlights the legal and ethical distinction between passive euthanasia—allowing a patient to die by withdrawing life-sustaining treatment—and active euthanasia, which involves deliberate intervention to end life. While India’s legal system recognises passive euthanasia under strict safeguards, active euthanasia continues to remain illegal.

4. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting searches at 19 premises across Chandigarh, Gurgaon and Mohali in connection with a major fraud at the Chandigarh branch of IDFC First Bank. The agency said that searches are being conducted to trace the money trail involving the alleged embezzlement of around Rs 590 crore from Haryana government bank accounts maintained in the bank.

1. In J&K, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary had a narrow escape in an attack by a gunman at a marriage function in Jammu on Wednesday night.

2. An Air India Express aircraft operating its Hyderabad to Phuket flight suffered a nose-wheel issue at Phuket Airport of Thailand. As per the sources, authorities suspended flight operations at Phuket airport following the incident since the aircraft is stuck on the runway. The number of passengers onboard the Boeing 737-Max8 aircraft was not immediately known.

1. Indian Naval Ship INS Trikand will participate in the 58th National Day celebrations of Mauritius today. The ship reached Port Louis on 10 March.

2. The Army Hospital has achieved a global milestone in minimally invasive Glaucoma Surgery with aqueous angiography in New Delhi. The Ministry of Defence informed that the pioneering procedure was carried out using advanced surgical instrumentation and real-time imaging with the Heidelberg Retina Angiograph to visualise aqueous outflow pathways during the operation.

3. Tata Advanced Systems partners with Ramco Systems to provide the digital backbone for the IAF C-130J MRO facility in India. The platform will support aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul operations, strengthening India’s defence aviation ecosystem.

4. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has once again showcased its exceptional capabilities beyond aerial operations, securing top honours at the International Military Adventure Challenge Cup 2026. This prestigious global event highlighted the IAF’s dominance in adventure sports, reinforcing its reputation for excellence in diverse domains.

5. The Ministry of Home Affairs has informed that 108 naxalites surrendered in six districts of Chhattisgarh. The districts include Bijapur, Dantewada, Sukma, Bastar, Narayanpur, and Kanker. The Ministry further stated that a reward money of 3 crore 95 lakh rupees was declared on these naxalites.
