1. The 16th Rozgar Mela will be held at 47 locations across the country: PM Modi will distribute more than 51 thousand appointment letters to newly appointed youth in various Government departments and organisations through video conferencing today.

2. Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level review meeting on Yamuna rejuvenation in New Delhi yesterday.

3. The Government is planning to roll out a one thousand 345 crore rupee subsidy scheme to promote the production of rare earth magnets in the country. Inter-ministerial consultations are underway in this regard.

4. Joint Parliamentary Committee on ‘One Nation One Election’ today held a meeting at Parliament House in New Delhi. The 39 member committee comprises 27 Members from the Lok Sabha and 12 Members from Rajya Sabha. The meeting was a part of the broader exercise to examine the Constitution (129th Amendment) Bill, 2024, and the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024, which aim to enable simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies.

5. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has strengthened the process for reporting Loose FASTags for blacklisting to ensure smooth tolling operations. The Road Transport and Highways Ministry, in a statement said loose FASTags that are commonly known as tag-in-hand pose a challenge to the efficiency of Electronic Toll Collection operations.

6. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology launched a Whitepaper titled Transitioning to Quantum Cyber Readiness in New Delhi. The white paper is a valuable guide for organisations from across sectors to begin their quantum-safe migration and prepare for quantum readiness. It also recommends practical approaches for integrating new security protocols into existing frameworks while maintaining compliance and operational continuity.

7. Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy emphasised the vital role of language in preserving culture and heritage at the 50-year celebration of Raj Bhasha ‘Dakshin Samvad’ in Hyderabad.

8. Heavy Industries Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy launched a scheme to incentivise electric trucks (e-trucks) under the PM E-DRIVE Scheme. This is the first time that the government has launched support for electric trucks to help the country’s transition to clean and sustainable freight mobility.

9. The annual 38 day Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra that commenced on 3rd of this month is going on peacefully and seamlessly, from twin routes of Nunwan Pahalgam Base Camp in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district and Baltal Base Camp in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The Yatra will conclude on 9th August on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

10. Maharashtra government declared Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav as an official state festival. The announcement was made by Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar during the Legislative Assembly session.

11. National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) and UNICEF India launched TALASH, a new program to support the education and personal growth of tribal students. The initiative will help students studying in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) across 28 states and 8 union territories. It aims to build self-confidence, life skills, and guide students in choosing the right careers.

12. MeT Department in Uttarakhand forecasts yellow alert of rain in state till July 15. An orange alert of rain has been issued in Dehradun, Nainital and Bageshwar on July 13.

1. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested another key conspirator wanted in the ISIS Pune sleeper module case. NIA said in a statement that the 11th accused Rizwan Ali along with the 10 other accused had conspired to commit a series of terror acts to destabilise the country and spread communal disharmony. Rizwan had carried a reward of 3 lakh rupees for information leading to his capture.

2. Twenty two Maoists surrender at Narayanpur in Chhattisgarh.

3. In Jammu & Kashmir, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted raids at three locations in Jammu, Doda, and Handwara as part of a terror financing probe. The searches targeted a conspiracy involving cross-border funding through cryptocurrency to fuel terrorism and destabilize peace.

4. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully coordinated the return of Kubbawala Mustafa from UAE through INTERPOL Channels. Kubbawala Mustafa is wanted by Mumbai Police on the allegations of operating from abroad a Synthetc Drug Manufacturing Factory at Sangli. More than 126 kg of Mephedrone drugs worth over 25 lakh rupees was recovered and confiscated from the said factory linked to Kubbawala Mustafa and others.

5. Gujarat’s Health Minister Rushikesh Patel said that the government has conducted a high-level investigation into the Vadodara bridge incident. According to the preliminary report of the investigation committee, the Mujpur-Gambhira bridge collapsed due to a pedestrian and articulation crush.

3. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) carried out a rescue operation for the U.S. sailing vessel Sea Angel, which was stranded about 52 nautical miles southeast of Indira Point, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The yacht, carrying two crew members, was disabled amid extremely rough conditions due to a blown sail and an entangled propeller.

4. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described the National Cadet Corps, NCC, as a platform that serves as an ideal for the youth of the country.
