1. The government has issued detailed guidelines on the observance of India’s National Song, Vande Mataram, directing that all six stanzas of the official version must be rendered first whenever the National Song and the National Anthem are performed together. According to the Union Home Ministry, the full six-stanza version is to be sung or played on key state occasions such as the arrival of the President, the unfurling of the National Flag, and addresses by Governors, among other formal events.
2. The National Productivity Council (NPC) celebrates its 68th Foundation Day on 12 February 2026 and observes National Productivity Week from 12 to 18 February 2026 across the country.
The theme this year is “Clusters as Growth Engine: Maximizing Productivity in MSMEs”, focusing on strengthening MSMEs, boosting manufacturing competitiveness and promoting sustainable industrial growth.
3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on 14th February to inaugurate several projects. He is set to create a historic moment during his Assam visit as he will land and take off from the Northeast’s first highway-based emergency landing strip at Chabua on the Dibrugarh-Moran stretch at Dibrugarh district.
4. The Election Commission said that the final electoral roll of Goa, as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of the voters’ list, will be published on the 21st of this month.
5. In Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath-led government yesterday presented the last full budget of its second term in the state Assembly. With an outlay of over nine lakh twelve thousand crore rupees, it is the largest budget in the state’s history, marking an increase of 12.9 percent over the previous year.
6. Kerala Chief Electoral Officer Ratan U.Kelkar visited Edamalakkudi, the state’s first tribal panchayat in Munnar, to review Special Intensive Revision (SIR) progress ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
7. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will open a three-day correction window as a one-time measure for aspirants or candidates to rectify mistakes in the application forms submitted for the Civil Services Examination (CSE), 2026 and Indian Forest Service (IFoS) Examination, 2026.
8. Industrial Relations Code (Amendment) Bill 2026 Introduced in Lok Sabha. According to the statement of objects and reasons of the Bill, the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, replaces the Trade Unions Act, 1926, the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946 and the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, relating to trade unions, industrial employment and industrial disputes.
9. Ayush Minister, Prataprao Jadhav, yesterday inaugurated the Chintan Shivir on the completion of 25 years of the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) in New Delhi.
10. Union Minister of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi said that the government aims to connect the MSMEs of India with the global markets. He also hailed the over 7.5 crore MSMEs of the country for providing employment to more than 33 crore people. He also lauded the Union Budget 2026-27 for giving a big importance to the MSME sector of the country.
11. Uttarakhand govt intensifies preparations for Char Dham Yatra: The Uttarakhand government has intensified preparations to make tourism and religious activities in the state safer, more organised, and more attractive. To promote winter tourism, Winter Games are being organised across the state.
12. The domestic solar module manufacturing capacity in the country has reached 144 Gigawatt. Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi stated this while replying to supplementaries during Question Hour in the Lok Sabha.
13. Balaghat district in Madhya Pradesh has been selected as the pilot district under the World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan in the Cooperative Sector (WLGSP). As part of the pilot, a 500 metric tonne (MT) godown was constructed at the Bahudeshiya Prathamik Krishi Saakh Sahakari Society Maryadit, Parswada.
14. Centre has launched “White Revolution 2.0”, a cooperative-led initiative aimed at expanding dairy coverage, increasing milk procurement and strengthening women’s empowerment. The programme seeks to boost milk procurement by dairy cooperatives by 50 per cent over the next five years, raising daily procurement to 1,007 lakh kg by 2028–29.
15. Ajit Lal, a 1974 batch retired Indian Police Service officer and former chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC), has been appointed as the Northeast Adviser to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

1. The No Confidence Motion notice given by the Congress-led opposition parties seeking removal of Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla will be considered in the second phase of the Budget session. The second phase of Budget Session is scheduled to start from 9th March and will continue till 2nd April.
2. The Union Government told the Supreme Court that Ladakh social activist Sonam Wangchuk cannot be released from detention on medical grounds.
Sonam Wangchuk, a well-known Ladakh social activist and education reformer, has been protesting for:
✅ Granting statehood to Ladakh
✅ Including Ladakh under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution (to protect tribal land, culture, and jobs)
✅ Environmental protection of the Himalayan region
During protest marches (including attempts to march toward Delhi), police detained him and other supporters.
3. The Supreme Court called on the Tamil Nadu government to furnish details of all FIRs registered in relation to the alleged Rs.4730 cr worth of illegal sand mining/theft of mineral in the state.
4. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre concluded a two-day National Conference on tackling cyber-enabled frauds and dismantling the supporting ecosystem in New Delhi.
5. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has informed that the one-time temporary exemptions granted to IndiGo Airlines from certain Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) provisions have concluded. DGCA said that the airline is now required to fully comply with the approved regulatory framework.

1. The Indian Air Force (IAF) will demonstrate it’s prowess through Exercise Vayushakti-26 at Pokhran Air to Ground Range, Jaisalmer on 27 February 2026.
2. The Indian Army has undertaken a huge exercise to rename 246 roads, buildings and facilities across its military establishments and name them after Indian war heroes like Arun Khetrapal, Abdul Hamid, Dhan Singh Thapa, Sundar Singh and Piru Singh.
The renaming exercise covers 124 roads, 77 residential colonies, 27 buildings and military facilities, and 18 other facilities, such as parks, training areas, sports grounds, gates and helipads.
3. BSF and SSB Chiefs Meet Army Chief to Strengthen Border Management: Shri Praveen Kumar, IPS, Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), and Shri Sanjay Singhal, IPS, Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), called on General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), to discuss key issues related to national security.
4. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has signed an agreement with Council of Scientific and Industrial Research for collaborative research, technology development and resource sharing to advance human sustenance and performance in extreme environments.
5. Harcharan Singh, the first turbaned Pakistani Sikh, who made history by securing a place in the Pakistan army has now become the first Sikh to be decorated with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

1. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has announced a comprehensive revision of the base year for Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Consumer Price Index (CPI), and Index of Industrial Production (IIP). The new base year for GDP and IIP will be 2022-23, while for CPI it will be 2024. The updated series is scheduled for release on 12 February 2026 (CPI), 27 February 2026 (GDP), and May 2026 (IIP). The move aims to improve accuracy, relevance, and international comparability of India’s official statistics.
2. Global billionaire wealth reached a new record of $15.8 trillion in 2025, rising by 13% in just 12 months, according to the UBS Billionaire Ambitions Report. Nearly 196 self-made billionaires added $386.5 billion to global wealth, while the total number of billionaires rose to nearly 3,000 worldwide.
