3. PM Modi will be on a two day visit to Rajasthan and Karnataka from Sunday.

The five-day National Philatelic Exhibition, AMRITPEX 2023, is organised by the Department of Posts, which has been the backbone of the country’s communication for over 150 years.

8. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Saturday inaugurated the Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav- 2023 (RSM) at Azad Maidan, Churchgate in Mumbai.

CRIME REPORT

1. A software engineer Mohammed Arif was picked up from his house in Thanisandra in Bengaluru on Saturday for alleged links with extremist organisations ISIS and Al-Qaeda. He was allegedly planning to join the ISIS terror group in Syria this March by travelling via Afghanistan and Iraq. His links with fundamentalist organisations and terror groups are being probed.

2. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday ordered a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the murder of journalist Shashikant Warishe in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra earlier this week.

3. Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has withdrawn its appeal urging people to celebrate February 14 as ‘Cow Hug Day’.

1. Direct Tax collections for 2022-23 are at 15.67 lakh crore rupees till now. The collections are higher than gross collections for corresponding period of last year. Direct Tax collection, net of refunds, stands at 12.98 lakh crore rupees which is 18.40 % higher than the net collections for the corresponding period of last year.

This is 91.39 % of the total Budget Estimates of Direct Taxes for 2022-23 and 78.65 percent of the Revised Estimates of Direct Taxes for 2022-23.

2. Union government signed loan agreements to borrow up to ₹13,879 crore to strengthen health infrastructure from international agencies.

3. Bengaluru Traffic Police has collected over ₹120 crore in traffic violation fines in nine days after the Karnataka government announced a 50% discount on the payment of pending traffic fines.

1. Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared Kartik Aaryan-starrer ‘Shehzada’ with U/A certificate. The film, also starring Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal and Manisha Koirala, is set to release on February 17.

2. Rajkummar Rao, taking to Instagram on Saturday, shared a deleted scene from ‘Badhaai Do’ as the film completed one year of release.

3. Actor Sanjay Dutt took to Instagram on Saturday to share a post for his wife Maanayata Dutt on their 15th wedding anniversary.

DEFENCE

1. On 13 Feb @ 9.30 AM, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the 14th edition of Aero India 2023 at Air Force Station, Yelahanka in Bengaluru. The theme of Aero India 2023 is “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities’. Aero India 2023 will witness participation by more than 80 countries.

Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’, the event will focus on displaying indigenous technologies and forging partnerships with foreign companies.

2. The DRDO-developed Medium Altitude Long Endurance class unmanned aerial vehicle TAPAS-BH (Tactical Aerial Platform for Advanced Surveillance – Beyond Horizon) will make its flying debut at ‘Aero India’ here next week. The TAPAS-BH will showcase its capabilities and there will be static as well aerial displays on the business days of the five-day aerospace and defence exhibition which starts on February 13.

3. Indian Army had set up a field hospital in the quake-hit Turkey’s Iskenderun where 106 rescued people are being treated.
