2. The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday quashed the circular issued by the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, which bans the rearing of certain breeds of dogs on the ground of them being ferocious and dangerous to human life.
3. The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday barred the West Bengal Police from arresting NIA officials, who have been accused of theft and outraging the modesty of women. The police have registered an FIR against NIA officials for alleged molestation in the Bhupatinagar incident after the wife of an arrested TMC leader filed a complaint against them. The High Court said the police can question the NIA officials through video-conferencing but no arrest was needed.
4. The CBI has created a dedicated e-mail ID — sandeshkhali@cbi.gov.in — on which victims of land grab in Sandeshkhali, a village in West Bengal, can get their complaints lodged.

1. The Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) issuance of fresh guidelines, State Bank of India (SBI) and Standard Chartered Bank India conducted a Credit Default Swap (CDS) trade valued at ₹25 crore. This marks a notable development in the financial landscape, particularly in credit risk management.
2. According to a report on Global Trade Outlook and Statistics released by the World Trade Organization (WTO), India has now become the fourth largest exporter of digitally delivered services. India’s digitally delivered services exports were estimated at $257 billion, which is 17% higher than the previous year.
3. Private lender HDFC Bank has opened a branch at Kavaratti Island in Lakshadweep, making it the only private sector bank to have a presence in the Union Territory.

5. In FY24, small business loans under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) witnessed a record surge, crossing the ₹5 lakh crore milestone, as per recent government data. Disbursements totaled ₹5.20 lakh crore, a significant increase from ₹4.40 lakh crore in the previous fiscal year. Notably, nearly 70% of the beneficiaries of these loans are women.

1. INDIA TO POST DEFENCE ATTACHÉ IN ARMENIA: India is set to send Defence Attachés (DA) to a number of its missions in different African countries like Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Mozambique, and Djibouti., Now Bharat also includes Armenia.
What is Military attaché or defence attache…?
It means a military expert who is attached to a diplomatic mission, often an embassy. This type of attaché post is normally filled by a high-ranking military officer, who retains a commission while serving with a diplomatic mission. Defence attachés collect and examine military intelligence, facilitate military cooperation pacts, and give evaluation of security issues to their home country’s government. They also act as a link between diplomats and the military.
2. GAGAN SHAKTI took place from April 1-10, Gagan Shakti was a non-stop exercise that ran for 24 hours through each of its 10 days. On April 6 and 7, Gagan Shakti took place along a 3.5-kilometre stretch of the 302-kilometre-long Lucknow-Agra Expressway. The IAF deployed an IL-76 aircraft housing an Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS), as well as an anti-missile system, for this purpose.
TARANG SHAKTI is scheduled for August.
