2. The Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, has announced the establishment of 10 new ESIC medical colleges and the extension of the unemployment allowance scheme under the Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojna until June 2026.

3. Congress top brass headed by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge held a review meeting on Thursday on the party’s shock defeat in the Haryana assembly polls and discussed the possible reasons for the ‘unexpected’ results.

4. Omar Abdullah was on Thursday unanimously elected as the leader of the National Conference legislature party. The NC has emerged as the single-largest party in the just-concluded Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls with 42 seats.

5. In the Kashmir Valley, J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired the 35th University Council Meeting of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Kashmir at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar.

6. The Telangana government began implementation of the Centre’s Vehicle Fleet Modernisation Policy by unveiling a vehicle scrapping policy for the state. Government-owned vehicles which have completed more than 15 years of age from the date of registration will also be scrapped. The state government has also decided to implement Sarathi and Vahan software in the state within 12 months.

7. The Telangana government has unveiled a new initiative that will enable women’s self-help groups (SHGs) to lease buses to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC).

8. The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the development of the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) at Lothal, Gujarat.

9. Maharashtra cabinet took some important decisions on Thursday. It decided to request the central government to increase the income limit to qualify for ‘non-creamy layer’ to Rs 15 lakh per year from the current Rs 8 lakh.

10. Union Government released a tax devolution of Rs.7,211 crore for Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, out of the 1.78 lakh crore it released to 28 states during the festive season.

11. Telangana government received a tax devolution of Rs.3,745 crore from the Centre on Thursday. The amount includes both the regular installment due for October and an advance instalment.

12. The Karnataka government signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) South Asia, a technology company, to provide technology-based quality school education.

13. The Planning department, Government of Manipur, is inviting online applications via https://startupmanipur.in from eligible entrepreneurs with established businesses in the state seeking financial support of up to Rs10 lakh under the Chief Minister’s Entrepreneurship Support Scheme (CMESS) for the 2024-25 financial year.

14. The Indian government has approved the construction of 2,280 km of roads in Rajasthan and Punjab, with an investment of Rs 4,406 crore. The main focus is to improve infrastructure in areas near the Pakistan border.

15. IIT Indore has introduced a new device for the early detection of breast cancer, specifically designed to help women in rural and remote areas. This device, created by Prof. Srivathsan Vasudevan.

16. In Hanle, Ladakh, the Major Atmospheric Cherenkov Experiment (MACE), Asia’s largest imaging Cherenkov telescope, was inaugurated at an impressive altitude of nearly 4,300 meters. Developed by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC).

1. The Centre has declared Hizb-Ut-Tahrir and all its manifestations and front organizations as terrorist organizations under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

It said, the aim of the organization is to establish an Islamic state and Caliphate globally, including in India, by overthrowing democratically elected governments through jihad and terrorist activities.

2. Delhi Police Special Cell has seized 200 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated value of around two thousand crore rupees in the international market. A senior official of Delhi Police informed that the cocaine was seized from the Ramesh Nagar area of West Delhi.

1. The Indian Navy (IN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company to provide a diverse range of insurance products, including term insurance, to Naval Civilians at competitive premiums. This initiative is part of the Indian Navy’s “Year of Naval Civilians,” aimed at promoting welfare and inclusivity.

2. The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) of India has recently approved a significant proposal to construct two nuclear-powered attack submarines (SSNs) domestically. This decision marks a strategic enhancement of the Indian Navy’s capabilities, particularly in response to regional threats, especially from China.

3. Australia, Japan, and US naval forces joined the host India for the opening ceremony of field-training exercise “Malabar 2024” in Vishakhapatnam on Wednesday.

This year marks the 28th iteration of the Malabar exercise, which began in 1992 as a bilateral exercise between the United States and India. The exercise has since evolved in scope and complexity and now includes Japan and Australia.

4. Meghalaya NCC cadet selected for NCC Mount Everest Expedition, 2025: NCC cadet Rifiness Warjri has been selected to embark on the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. Warji is a cadet of St. Anthony’s College of the 61 Meghalaya Bn NCC, under the aegis of the NCC Group Head Quarter, Shillong.
