1. Sanatan Dharma remark: The Supreme Court seeks reply from UP, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Bihar & J&K on plea for clubbing FIRs: Earlier in March this year, the court had pulled up Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for making his anti Hindu statements and seeking a relief for clubbing multiple FIRs lodged against him across the country, saying as a minister he should have been aware of the consequences.
2. Jailed Terrorist Amritpal Singh Seeks Temporary Release To Fight Polls : Khalistani terrorist and “Waris Punjab De” chief Amritpal Singh, who is currently lodged in Assam’s Dibrugarh Jail, approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday seeking temporary release to file his nomination to contest the Lok Sabha polls.
3. Excise Policy Case : Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal received a warm welcome from his family members after he reached his residence. He was released from Tihar Jail after the Supreme Court granted him interim bail till 01 June.
4. Another woman has accused Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna of raping her and filed a complaint in this regard with the cyber-crime police station of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The Supreme Court on Friday disposed of a plea filed by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren seeking a directive to the high court to deliver its verdict on his petition challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in the money laundering case . The plea became infructuous after the high court delivered its judgement on May 3, upholding Hemant Soren’s arrest.
The JMM leader has already challenged the high court order, and the apex court is scheduled to hear the matter on May 13.
6. The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to convicted former cop Pradeep Sharma in connection with a fake encounter case of 2006. The case arose from the encounter killing of Ramnarayan Gupta alias Lakhan Bhaiya, an alleged member of Chhota Rajan’s gang.
The Bombay High Court had on March 19 convicted Sharma in the fake encounter case and sentenced him to life imprisonment, leading to the present appeal.
7. Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar’s remarks on Pakistan sparked a political row on Friday, In comments which have gone viral on social media, Aiyar is heard saying that India should give respect to Pakistan as it is a sovereign nation and engage with it as it also possesses an atom bomb.

The Reserve Bank of India recently conducted a buyback of government securities (G-Secs), receiving offers totaling ₹17,384.552 crore, but accepting only ₹10,513 crore, despite the notified amount being ₹40,000 crore. Market analysts speculate that banks may have offered G-Secs at higher prices, leading to rejection of offers out of sync with secondary market prices.

1. Indian Coast Guard has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindalco Industries for manufacturing and supply of indigenous marine-grade aluminium for construction of ships.The Indian Coast Guard fleet is presently operating 67 ships with aluminium hull with capability of operating in shallow waters.
2. The Indian Army is set to receive the first Hermes-900 Starliner drone on June 18 .The Hermes-900 known as the Drishti-10 drone is being supplied to Indian forces including Indian Army and Navy by Adani Defence Systems.
3. The Indian Army has concluded “Operation Redwani Payeen,” eliminating three terrorists after a vigil of 40 hours, A joint operation that commenced on the intervening night of May 6-7 in the general area of Redwani Payeen, Kulgam.
4. The militaries of India and France are holding Exercise Shakti to enhance the joint military capability of both sides to undertake multi domain operations in a sub-conventional scenario. Sources confirmed that the exercise is scheduled to be held at Umroi, Meghalaya, from May 13-26.
5. Indian Naval Ships Delhi, Shakti and Kiltan concluded their four-day visit to Singapore from May 6 to 9.
