1. Indian astronaut and group captain of the Indian Air Force, Shubhanshu Shukla, is all set to undertake his first journey to space as part of SpaceX’s Axiom-4 mission today for a two-week stay at the International Space Station. The launch was earlier scheduled to take place yesterday, but it was postponed by a day due to bad weather. This historic mission will carry four astronauts from Florida in the United States.
ISRO Chairman V Narayanan said the targeted time of the launch is 5:30 PM IST.
2. PM Modi meets all-party delegation members, part of India’s diplomatic outreach to expose Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. The meeting, which took place at the Prime Minister’s residence in New Delhi.
3. The Jan Man Survey launched on the Narendra Modi App or NaMo App, on completion of 11 years of the Narendra Modi government in office, has quickly gained significant traction with over five lakh responses from citizens across the country in a single day.

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the initiative to develop AI-driven language technologies in India stemmed from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to harness technology for linguistic advancement. The Minister was speaking after launching AI Tamil initiative through video conferencing at Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
5. Union Power Minister Manohar Lal has said that India successfully met peak power demand of 241 Gigawatt with zero shortage. He said that India has added it’s highest-ever generation capacity of 34 Gigawatt during 2024-25, with renewable energy accounting for 29.5 Gigawatt.
6. The Delhi Government approved the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Ordinance, 2025, to regulate arbitrary fee hikes by private schools in the national capital. It will give major relief to lakhs of students studying in private schools and their parents in the city.
7. India’s first underwater museum and artificial coral reef will be developed around the decommissioned warship INS Guldar near Nivati Rocks at Vengurla in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attended the initiation of the project virtually.
8. In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha disbursed the pension arrears of Rs. 6.14 crore to over 12 thousand beneficiaries under the Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS).
9. Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament Captain Brijesh Chowta has informed that the Detailed Project Report preparation work will soon begin on the Hi Speed Express Corridor between Bengaluru and Mangaluru.
10. Punjab state government has decided to recruit 200 psychologists, with immediate effect, to provide essential assistance and counselling to individuals striving to overcome drug addiction. The Cabinet Sub-Committee on ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ (War Against Drugs), a campaign launched by the state government to weed out drugs from Punjab, took this decision.
11. Union Coal and Mines Minister and Telangana BJP State president G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated the newly installed façade lighting at Kacheguda railway station in Hyderabad. Kachiguda is a Gothic-style structure built in 1916 during the Nizam era. The historic station has been illuminated with 785 fixtures, installed by the Ministry of Tourism for 2.23 crore rupees.
12. Maharashtra government will start giving unique IDs for each of the infrastructure development projects from October 1, 2025. The unique IDs will now have a geo-tagged 13-digit alphanumeric which will now be used as a primary reference number once the administrative approval is granted to the project.
13. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast severe heat wave conditions over Rajasthan during the next three days. Heat wave conditions are also likely over Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.
14. Delhi to host India’s first e-waste recycling park in Holambi Kalan, aiming to process 51,000 tonnes of e-waste annually. The eco park will promote green jobs, circular economy, and formalize the recycling sector.
15. The Government of India has launched the Ayush Nivesh Saarthi Portal, a digital platform made to attract and guide investors in the Ayush sector. This portal was developed by the Ministry of Ayush in partnership with invest India. This is to Promote Investment in Traditional Medicine Sector.

1. In Manipur, curfew will be relaxed from 5 AM to 5 PM in the five valley districts from today. However, the ban on internet and mobile data services in these districts was in force when reports last came in. The curfew was imposed in Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching and Bishnupur in view of protests in these districts. The protestors were demanding to release of a leader of Arambai Tenggol, who had been arrested by CBI in connection with a case related to violence in the state.
2. Delhi Police has arrested 66 Bangladeshi citizens living illegally in the National capital’s Wazirpur and New Sabzi Mandi areas.
3. The Government of India has taken a big step to make Waqf property management more transparent and helpful for the Muslim community. On June 6, 2025, Union Ministry for Ministry Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, launched the UMEED Portal, a digital platform that aims to improve how Waqf properties are managed and monitored across the country.
4. The funds payable by the Central Government to the States under the Right to Education Act need not be linked to the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), the Madras High Court urged the Centre to consider releasing the Samagra Shiksha Scheme funds payable to the Tamil Nadu government.

2. Fire in Dwarka’s Shabad Apartment Claims Three Lives. A person and his two children died after a fire broke out in a flat on the seventh floor of the Shabad Apartment located in Dwarka Sector 13 of the national capital.
3. In Jammu and Kashmir, at least thirty-five villagers were hospitalised yesterday after falling ill due to a mysterious illness in the frontier district of Rajouri, prompting the health department to collect water samples and seal the local water sources.

1. The State Bank of India (SBI) pays a record ₹8,076.84 crore dividend to the Government of India for FY25 after posting a net profit of ₹70,901 crore.
2. Thomas Cook (India) Limited has joined hands with Muthoot Forex, part of the well-known Muthoot Group, to make its travel and student forex cards available across India. This partnership uses Muthoot’s wide network of over 7,000 branches, including 43 specialized forex branches.
3. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is considering the launch of a public infrastructure investment trust (InvIT). This initiative aims to enhance public funding for its asset monetisation pipeline. The proposal follows the successful launch of a private InvIT that has already monetised over 2,300 km of highways.

1. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has asserted that Operation Sindoor was the biggest action taken against terrorism in India’s history. Speaking at an event in Dehradun, he said that, the Pahalgam terror strike was not just an attack on Indian citizens but also an assault on the social unity of the country.
2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has highlighted the remarkable transformation in India’s defence sector over the last eleven years. In a social media post, the Prime Minister said the focus has been on both modernisation and achieving self-reliance in defence production.
3. In Jammu and Kashmir, security forces busted a terrorist hideout in a remote area in Rajouri district. It was unearthed during a joint search operation by the Police and the Army. The security forces have seized ten Under Barrel Grenade Launchers and other materials. However, no arrest has been made in this connection.
4. The procurement of 97 upgraded TEJAS MK-1A fighter jets from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) is set to commence in the financial year 2026–27 (FY27), under a substantial ₹67,000-crore plan that marks a significant phase in India’s indigenous fighter jet program.
5. The Indian Army is set for a major enhancement of its air defence capabilities with the imminent approval of three new regiments of the indigenous Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) systems.This strategic acquisition, expected to be cleared by the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) in the last week of June 2025.
6. India has taken a significant leap in modernizing its military capabilities by successfully testing an artificial intelligence-enabled light machine gun (LMG) system in high-altitude terrain.The trials, conducted at an elevation of 14,000 feet in collaboration with the Indian Army, featured the AI-powered Negev LMG developed by Dehradun-based BSS Material Ltd.
7. Pakistan has announced a significant increase in its defence budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, raising military spending by 20% to 2.55 trillion Pakistani rupees (approximately $9 billion), compared to 2.12 trillion rupees in the previous year.
