1. Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar yesterday said that India’s rise as a global power must be accompanied by the rise of its intellectual and cultural gravitas. Mr. Dhankhar was addressing a Conference on Indian Knowledge Systems at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi.

2. The Election Commission of India recently initiated a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar ahead of state elections. This move sparked controversy with opposition parties and activists alleging potential disenfranchisement of certain communities and new voters. The Commission justified the revision by citing its constitutional mandate under Article 326 of the Constitution of India. This article guarantees universal adult suffrage and forms the legal basis for such electoral roll updates.

3. The Minister Harsh Malhotra opened the India Energy Storage Week 2025 in Delhi, stressing the government’s strong efforts in supporting electric vehicles and clean energy.

4. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has started a new scheme called ‘Digi-Lakshmi’ on recently 30 June 2025, to help urban poor women become digital service providers. The State plans to set up 9,034 Common Service Centres (CSCs) across all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). This is an important step to promote digital jobs and women-led businesses.

5. Centre approves release of over one thousand crore rupees to flood and landslide-affected states.

Union Minister for Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, along with Minister of State for Education and Skill Development, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh Agritech Innovation Hub and the Agritech Startup and Technology Showcase at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology (SVPUAT), Meerut, on 9 July, 2025.

8. Union government has approved the release of Rs 180 crore in pending payments for material suppliers in Andhra Pradesh under the MGNREGS scheme.

9. India’s fish production has more than doubled in 11 years-from 95.79 lakh tonnes to 195 lakh tonnes, reflecting the success of the country’s ‘blue revolution’ launched by the Centre.

10. A Big Relief For Noida And Gurugram Commuters: The long-anticipated Third Ring Road, officially named the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II), is nearing completion and is expected to be operational by August 2025, with around 95% of the work already done. UER-II is a 74-km-long, six-lane express corridor developed under the Delhi Master Plan 2021. It begins at Alipur in North Delhi (NH-44) and runs all the way to Mahipalpur, near the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway (NH-48).

12. Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) President and actor-turned-politician Vijay, on Thursday, accused the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government of denying government subsidies to fishermen in Tirunelveli district as their boats displayed the name of his party.

13. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that very heavy rainfall activity will continue over the northwestern part of the country during the next two to three day. Similar weather conditions are expected to continue over central India during the next four to five days.

14. Delhi and the NCR witnessed earthquake tremors on Thursday,
A 4.4-magnitude earthquake hit at around 9:04 AM yesterday, with the epicentre in Haryana’s Jhajjar, the National Center for Seismology said. It was located 10 kilometres below the Earth’s surface.

15. The 2025 Kanwar Yatra begins on today @ 11 July, Friday.
The Jal abhishekam is done on Sawan Shivaratri. Kanwar Yatra or Kawad Yatra is an auspicious pilgrimage observed by the devotees of Lord Shiva annually. This yatra is also called Jal Yatra as in this practice the bearer known as ‘Kanwariyas’ or Kanvadias go the Hindu pilgrimage places like Sultanganj in Bihar, Gangotri and Gaumukh in Uttarakhand and Haridwar to fetch water from the Holy Ganges and then offer the ‘Ganga Jal’ to Shiva temples in their hometowns.

1. Indian origin student pilot was among the two people who were killed in a tragic midair collision involving two training aircraft in Canada on Tuesday. The dead pilots were identified as a 21-year-old Sreehari Sukesh, a resident of Kerala.

2. In Himachal Pradesh, since the arrival of the southwest monsoon last month, the state has been experiencing heavy rainfall, cloudbursts, and flash floods, significantly disrupting normal life. Intermittent moderate to heavy showers continued across most parts of the state.

1. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) is positioned to secure two major submarine contracts worth over ₹1.06 lakh crore from the Indian government by the end of financial year 2025-26.

2. India has launched a ₹1,000 crore venture capital fund dedicated to supporting the country’s rapidly growing space-tech start-up ecosystem, marking a transformative step in its ambition to become a major global player in the space sector.This initiative, approved by the Union Cabinet and managed by SIDBI Venture Capital Limited.

3. India’s shipping sector is set to receive a transformative boost with the announcement that Cyprus-based Interorient Navigation Co Ltd and Danship & Partners Ltd will invest ₹10,000 crore in the industry. This represents the largest foreign direct investment (FDI) in Indian shipping since the sector was fully opened to overseas investment in 2005.

4. Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance-owned Alok Industries announced on Thursday that the company will be declaring its financial results for the quarter ending on June 30, 2025 on Thursday, July 17.

Alok Industries share price fell over 2.87 per cent in Thursday’s trading session to ₹21.35 apiece on NSE. The stock has ascended over 3 per cent in a month and 9.90 per cent in six months.

5. Delhi government is planning to construct an elevated road over the Munak Canal, worth Rs 3,000 crore, spanning 20 kilometres from Bawana to Inderlok.

6. Zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal has reportedly purchased a super-luxury apartment at DLF’s The Camellias in Gurugram for Rs 52.3 crore.

1. 10th Filmfare Awards Marathi 2025 have been officially announced, marking a milestone in Marathi cinema with a decade of recognizing artistic and cinematic brilliance.

Organized by The Times Group, the star-studded celebration will take place on the evening of July 10, 2025, at Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai, honoring Marathi films released between 1 January and 31 December 2024.

2. Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government on Wednesday approved Rs 33.8 million for the restoration and conservation of historic buildings belonging to Indian film legends Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor.

The historic buildings of Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar, which have already been declared national heritage by the Pakistan government, are in a dilapidated condition. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archaeology Department has planned to convert both structures into museums dedicated to the lives and careers of both actors.

Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla and his fellow Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) crew members will remain aboard the International Space Station (ISS) longer than initially planned, as their return has been delayed beyond the original two-week schedule.The European Space Agency (ESA) has stated that the crew is now expected to return no earlier than July 14.

2. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is actively considering the procurement of Israel Aerospace Industries’ Air-Launched Long Range Artillery (Air LORA) missile system, marking a significant evolution in India’s precision strike capabilities.This development follows the successful deployment of the Israeli Rampage missile during Operation Sindoor in May 2025.

3. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has made substantial progress in advancing India’s defence self-reliance in 2024, marked by the signing of over 2,000 technology transfer agreements and the issuance of more than 200 production licenses.

4. The Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) project is being hailed as a landmark achievement in India’s pursuit of defence self-reliance and artillery modernisation. Developed by the DRDO’s Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) in Pune, the ATAGS is a 155mm/52 calibre howitzer designed to replace older, less capable artillery guns in the Indian Army’s arsenal.

5. India is moving to clear a ₹20,000-crore tri-service acquisition of 87 indigenously-made medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Spearheaded by the Indian Air Force and demanding at least 60% local content, the proposal is slated for a high-level Defence Ministry meeting in the coming weeks.

6. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has officially announced the successful completion of two hot tests of the Gaganyaan Service Module Propulsion System (SMPS) at its Propulsion Complex in Mahendragiri recently on 3 July 2025. These tests mark a significant milestone in India’s ambitious human spaceflight program, Gaganyaan, which aims to send Indian astronauts into space.

1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded a landmark five-nation diplomatic tour, returned to New Delhi on Thursday, 10 July 2025, after a week-long journey that spanned Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia.The tour, from July 2 to 9, underscored India’s growing global engagement and was marked by high-level bilateral meetings, participation in the 17th BRICS Summit.

2. The defence relationship between India and Brazil has seen significant deepening and diversification during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure, reflecting the growing strategic trust between the two major democracies.India and Brazil established diplomatic relations in 1948, signing their first defence agreement in 2003.

3. Trinidad and Tobago became the eighth country in the world—and the first in the Caribbean—to offer UPI (Unified Payments Interface) services for Indian travelers. This move will allow Indian visitors to make payments directly in rupees using their mobile UPI apps.

4. Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) has placed orders for Indian-made loitering munitions from a private Indian company, most likely Solar Defence and Aerospace Ltd.The DRC is also negotiating for anti-drone and suicide drone systems from Indian firms, including both private and state-owned enterprises.
