9. The National Commission for Scheduled Castes has sought a report from the Karnataka government over the reported diversion of funds from the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan and Tribal Sub Plan (SCSP) for implementing Five Guarantees Schemes in the state.

10.The new rules are called the Haj Committee (Amendment) Rules, 2024, replacing “Ministry of External Affairs” with “Ministry of Minority Affairs” in the Haj Committee Rules, 2002.

1. Telecom Equipment Manufacturing Sales have crossed 50 thousand Crore rupees under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme.

2. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing livelihood opportunities among rural, tribal, and farming communities in India. 4. The Sixteenth Finance Commission has constituted an advisory council with five members to advise the Commission on any of the Terms of Reference (ToR) or related subjects. 1. The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has developed an indigenous Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) system for the Indian Navy’s Kalvari-class submarines. This AIP system will enhance the submarines’ ability to stay underwater for extended periods, significantly boosting their stealth capabilities.The AIP system, developed by DRDO’s Naval Materials Research Laboratory (NMRL), is based on fuel cell technology.

2. Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has sought intervention of the Ladakh Lt Governor Brigadier (Retd) B D Mishra to complete several border road projects after the work was suspended on the directions of the wildlife department in the Union territory

3. The Border Security Force (BSF), in collaboration with the State Bank of India (SBI), organized the “Grow with the Trees” plantation drive at the BSF Headquarters in Srinagar. The initiative aimed to create a greener environment and promote the importance of tree plantation, involving BSF officials, jawans, SBI officials, and school children.

4. Azerbaijan Army servicemen have arrived in Kazakhstan to take part in the “Birlestik-2024” operational-tactical command-staff exercise. This joint military drill, scheduled from July 11 to July 17, will be conducted at the Oymasha training ground and Cape Tokmak in the Caspian Sea. The exercise is part of a collaborative effort between the Defense Ministries of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

5. The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) will start “Exercise Pitch Black” on July 12, 2024. This is a major multinational aerial warfare practice that is held in Australia every two years.
