1. President Droupadi Murmu yesterday said that India is committed to being a nation where Human Rights are not only protected but also celebrated.
Addressing Human Rights Day 2025 and the National Conference on Ensuring Everyday Essentials in New Delhi, the President emphasised that dignity is non-negotiable and that no one should be deprived of their rights.
2. PM Modi urges citizens to join ‘Your Money, Your Right’ movement. Sharing a LinkedIn post, the Prime Minister said that it is a chance for citizens to convert a forgotten financial asset into a new opportunity.
He added that the initiative aims at enabling people to reclaim their unclaimed deposits, insurance proceeds, dividends, and other financial assets.
3. The Election Commission said, more than 50 crore 96 lakh enumeration forms have been distributed among electors since the launch of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Phase-2. It is 99.98 per cent of nearly 51 crore electors that will be covered in this phase.
4. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that the safety of women is given top priority in the Indian Railways. Swahid Diwas is observed annually on December 10 to honour those who sacrificed their lives during the Assam Movement – a mass agitation launched in 1979 by the Assam Students’ Union (ASU) and the All Assam Gana Sangram Parishad (AAGSP) against large-scale infiltration from Bangladesh.
10. The Bihar government has announced a new initiative aimed at accelerating the settlement of land disputes and improving transparency in land administration. The programme, titled ‘Bhumi Sudhar Samvad’, will begin on 12 December and offer citizens a platform to resolve documentation and ownership issues promptly.

The company claimed that investments would be used for cryptocurrency mining and would yield very high returns.
4. Karnataka has introduced a comprehensive legislative proposal to curb rising incidents of hate speech and hate crimes, presenting the Karnataka Hate Speech and Hate Crimes (Prevention) Bill, 2025 in the state assembly. The Bill outlines broad definitions, strict penalties, and new regulatory powers, while raising public concerns about whether private conversations fall within its scope.

1. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has raised its growth forecast for India to 7.2 per cent, up from 6.5 per cent, for the financial year 2025-26, according to its Asia and Pacific Growth Outlook report.

1. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi met Commander of the Brazilian Navy, Admiral Marcos Sampaio Olsen, during his ongoing visit to Brazil.
India and Brazil discussed naval cooperation, focused on operational engagements, training exchanges, hydrographic collaboration and avenues for enhancing Maritime Domain Awareness.
2. India and Brazil have formalised a major defence partnership with the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding involving the Indian Navy, the Brazilian Navy, and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL). The agreement aims to strengthen long-term maintenance support for Scorpène-class submarines and expand naval cooperation between the two nations.
3. Surya Kiran 2025 Exercise Concluded: The Indian Army successfully concluded the 19th edition of Exercise Surya Kiran 2025 with the Nepal Army in Uttarakhand. This bilateral training exercise strengthens military cooperation between the two nations.
4. Russia offered the 20-megawatt class M-90FR marine gas turbine for Indian Navy warships with full technology transfer, digital twin maintenance tools, and an Indian assembly line. The offer aims to achieve 70% indigenization within 5 years and replace Ukrainian engines affected by supply chain disruptions.
5. Project Kusha 10 Squadron Procurement: The Indian Air Force clarified it will procure all 10 sanctioned squadrons of the indigenous Project Kusha air defense system regardless of any additional S-400 purchases from Russia. Each Kusha squadron will field eight launchers and about 150 missiles, totaling nearly 1,500 missiles across 10 squadrons, with BEL and Bharat Dynamics preparing production lines capable of 400 missiles annually.
