The court also cited the judgment in the case of Independent Thought Vs Union of India (2017) where the Supreme Court had held that any sexual intercourse between a man and his wife aged between 15 to 18 years would amount to rape.

1. The Indian Air Force is planning to raise the first squadron of the indigenous TEJAS MK-1A fighter aircraft squadron at the Nal air base in Bikaner district of Rajasthan near the Pakistan front.
2. The Indian Army is testing a smart scope powered by Artificial Intelligence that can detect humans up to 300 metres, which can extensively boost border and close combat operations. The smart scope is currently at its prototype stage, but a miniature version can be made too. The scope can help achieve one shot one hit capability.
3. The Indian Army prepares a new promotion policy, adapting to operational needs. This policy aims for enhanced opportunities, catering to Major Generals, staff-approved officers, and future promotions.
The army is set to come out with a comprehensive promotion policy, which will come into effect from 01 January 2024.
4. The Navy plans to acquire indigenously made swim delivery vehicles to strengthen the capabilities of its Marine Commando Marcos for special maritime expeditions. They are also called underwater chariots and small submarines.

6. India has issued Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) that announce the closure of airspace for missile testing activities in December 2023. These NOTAMs indicate potential tests of possibly an Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile system.The missile test is scheduled between 12 December 2023 and 13 December 2023.
7. The Indian Navy, along with other defence state and civil agencies completed a two-phased exercise ‘Prasthan’ in the Offshore Development Area, off the Mumbai coast.
The exercise, which is conducted every six months, was held on the R12A (Ratna) Platform of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) around 83 km away from Mumbai harbour.
8. The Indian Army conducted the Army Veteran’s Half Marathon, Honour Run in New Delhi on Sunday to commemorate the historic military victory in the Kargil War.

Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Sajag has made a goodwill call at the United Arab Emirates Departing from King Abdul Aziz Port, Ad Dammam (Saudi Arabia) on December 8, 2023, the vessel arrived at Port Mina Rashid, Dubai at on December 10, 2023. This visit is part of a three-day goodwill initiative in the Gulf region, strengthening ties and cooperation between the Indian Coast Guard and UAE maritime agencies.
