1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. He will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects worth over three thousand 880 crore rupees in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
2. The winners of the XR Creator Hackathon have been declared today. A total of five teams were declared as winners, which represent a mix of students, professionals, and entrepreneurs from different cities and institutions.
*The hackathon was a part of Create in India Challenge (CIC) Season-1, launched as part of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in collaboration with Wavelaps.
3. Centre has enhanced the material cost by 9.50 percent under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM POSHAN) Scheme. The scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme under which hot cooked meals are served to over eleven crore students studying in Balvatika and classes 1 to 8 in government and government-aided schools.

5. The 9th edition of the Global Technology Summit (GTS) 2025 will be held in New Delhi. The theme for this year’s Summit is Sambhavna – meaning possibilities- and will explore how emerging technologies can drive inclusive growth, strengthen digital governance, and deepen cross-border partnerships.
6. The Telangana State government has launched the AI Rising Grand Challenge to resolve the public sector issues. State chief minister A Revanth Reddy inaugurated the initiative for serving as a unified data exchange, bringing together high-quality datasets from various government departments and partner organizations.
7. Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Prahlad Joshi, commended Uttar Pradesh’s performance in various schemes, including wheat procurement and the PM Surya Ghar initiative.
8. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated the Badnawar-Ujjain National Highway in Madhya Pradesh. This National Highway, built at a cost of 1,352 crore rupees in Badnawar of Dhar district, has been constructed under the Bharatmala Project.
9. In Punjab, a group (jatha) of 5,700 Sikh pilgrims has crossed over to Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah Joint Checkpost today to pay obeisance at the Gurudwaras there on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas on Baisakhi.
10. Union Health Minister J P Nadda and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana for the national capital. On the occasion, they distributed Ayushman health cards to the residents of the city. The scheme provides free health cover of five lakh rupees to each beneficiary family per year.
11. In Jammu and Kashmir, Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather has formed a House Committee to investigate the alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the region.

15. The Union Cabinet of India has recently approved the Modernisation of Command Area Development and Water Management (M-CADWM) scheme. This initiative is part of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) and is set to commence in the 2025-2026 period. With an initial budget of ₹1,600 crore, the scheme aims to enhance irrigation infrastructure across the country.

1. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) formally arrested Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the key conspirator in the deadly 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, immediately after he arrived in New Delhi.
2. Central government has appointed Narender Mann, Advocate, as special public prosecutor for conducting trial and other matters in 26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused Tahawwur Rana case.
3. The Supreme Court will hear petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, on the 16th of this month. A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna and Justices Sanjay Kumar and KV Vishwanathan will hear the case.
4. The Calcutta High Court has allowed the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, to conduct a rally in Kolkata on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. However, the single-judge bench of Justice Tirthankar Ghosh has set several conditions for conducting the rally scheduled at a route in North Kolkata and is supposed to end at a temple of Lord Hanuman.
5. In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha terminated two government employees for their involvement in anti-national activities, exercising powers under Article 311 of the Constitution. One employee was from the Police Department (Assistant Wireless Operator) and the other from the Public Works (R&B) Department (Senior Assistant).
6. Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi loses powers regarding appointment of Vice-Chancellors (VCs) of 13 state-run universities. The state government will now assume the authority to appoint VCs.

1. In Bihar, rain-related incidents have claimed 58 lives during the past 24 hours. Heavy rains, high-speed winds and lightning wreaked havoc in the state, causing loss of life and widespread damage to property and crops. The highest number of casualties were reported from Nalanda district, where 22 people lost their lives due to the uprooting of trees and the collapse of walls.

1. India and Pakistan held a brigade commander-level flag meeting on Thursday, 10 April 2025, at the Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.The meeting aimed to address border management issues and recent incidents of cross-border firing along the Line of Control (LoC).
2. Indian and U.S. troops have successfully concluded the harbour phase of Exercise Tiger Triumph 2025 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, and are now transitioning to the sea phase in Kakinada. This tri-service humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) exercise aims to enhance interoperability, mutual trust, and cultural synergy between the two nations.
3. India’s recent offer of the indigenous Akash air defence missile system to the United Arab Emirates represents a significant development in the growing defence relationship between the two nations. This offer, made during high-level diplomatic meetings, highlights India’s expanding capabilities as a defence exporter and signals a new chapter in India-UAE strategic partnership.

The cordons were placed after brief encounters with terrorists in the Jopher-Marta belt of Udhampur and Chatroo belt of Kishtwar yesterday. Operations are ongoing in the forests of Jopher-Marta and Naidgam-Chatroo.
