1. C P Radhakrishnan to be the 15th Vice President of India : Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, the NDA candidate for the post of the Vice President, will succeed Jagdeep Dhankhar in the post. The 68-year-old sailed through the election yesterday, scooping up 452 first preference votes, leaving Opposition candidate and retired Supreme Court judge B Sudershan Reddy trailing with 300 first preference votes. While 754 votes were cast, 15 were found to be invalid.

2. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi will inaugurate a state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle (EV) Testing Facility today during an event in New Delhi. The establishment of this facility reflects the government’s commitment to creating a robust EV ecosystem, reducing import dependency, and empowering domestic manufacturers with affordable testing services.

9. The three-day monsoon session of the Gujarat State Assembly commenced in Gandhinagar. 10. India’s literacy rate has risen from 74% in 2011 to 80.9% in 2023-24, announced Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on International Literacy Day 2025.

11. Himachal Pradesh has been declared a fully literate state with a 99.3% literacy rate, surpassing the national average of 95%, announced by CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on International Literacy Day during Ullas Mela 2025 in Shimla.

12. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Delhi government will provide all necessary facilities to resettle people in their homes after the water level in the Yamuna River has begun to recede.

13. Arunachal Pradesh is set to host its first-ever Sunrise Festival in Dong village, Anjaw district. This event will take place from 29 December 2025 to 2 January 2026. Dong is the easternmost village in India and receives the first rays of the sun every day. The festival aims to promote tourism, adventure, and cultural heritage in this remote border region.

14. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has deployed over 15,000 sanitation workers for an intensified clean-up operation following the Ganesh festival celebrations. These sanitation workers clear 11,200 tonnes of waste after Ganesh festival in Hyderabad.

15. The state government of Uttar Pradesh has launched a unique initiative by establishing ‘Anokhi Duniya,’ the world’s first park made entirely from ceramic waste. Located in Khurja, Bulandshahr district, known as the “ceramic capital” of India, the park is set to open by the end of September 2025.

1. The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) conducted a third raid on the residence of Chitradurga MLA K C Veerendra Puppy, seizing two cloth bags containing valuables from a locker.

2. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) began raids at 22 locations in and around Kolkata Monday in connection with a probe into alleged money laundering through illegal sand mining in West Bengal.

3. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court against the trial court acquittal of Justice Nirmal Yadav, a former judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court, in a corruption case registered by the agency in 2008 against her and others.

4. Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor’s children have filed a suit before the Delhi High Court seeking share in the personal assets of their late father Sunjay Kapur. Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12.

The suit has been filed by Samaira Kapur and Kiaan Raj Kapur against their father’s second wife Priya Kapur and their son as well as his mother Rani Kapur.

5. BRS working president KT Rama Rao welcomed the Telangana High Court verdict on the TSPSC Group-1 Mains, calling it justice for unemployed youth.

6. The Jharkhand high court, upholding the concept of equality within the same class, ordered the state govt to provide the dynamic assured career progression (DACP) scheme benefits to all employees of the medical cadre within eight weeks.
