1. Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘Asani’: Heavy rain likely to lash Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal.

11. *New Appointment*: Pushp Kumar Joshi, who recently took over as the interim chairman and managing director of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), has been appointed to the Board of the nation’s third-largest oil refining and fuel marketing company.

2. Life Insurance Corporation of India’s Initial Public Offering (IPO) received healthy response from investors; subscribed 2.91 times.

(c) IPO of LIC was opened for public subscription on 4th of this month which ended on 09 May at 7 P.M. This IPO is the biggest public offering in the country.

1. *Indian Navy’s P-8i Fleet host to Boeing and Air Works collaboration* :
Air Works, an Indian MRO company, is partnering with the Boeing Company to conduct heavy maintenance checks on three Indian Navy P-8i maritime patrol aircraft.

2. DRDO Developing an Universal Launcher for ASTRA Air to Air Missiles.

India is developing the Astra series to replace the expensive Russian, French, and Israeli-origin beyond-visual-range missiles. Astra MK-2 has a range of around 160 km.

3. The Border Security Force (BSF) has shot down a drone coming from Pakistan, which was carrying heroin, in Punjab’s Amritsar, said the force on Monday, May 9, 2022. The BSF said it recovered nine packets of heroin from the drone, thwarting a smuggling bid from across the border.
