8. *HIMACHAL* : A three-storey building in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla district collapsed on Saturday afternoon

The building collapsed in Chopal market around 12.30 pm. However, no loss of life has been reported as the building was vacated before it collapsed. A branch of UCO Bank, a dhaba, a bar and some other business establishments were located in the building.

9. *Union Territory of J&K* , Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) hospital in Srinagar to enquire about the health of pilgrims who were injured in unfortunate incident of cloudburst at Shri Amarnathji holy cave.

1. Supreme Court on Monday will declare the punishment for fugitive liquor baron Vijay Mallya in a 2017 contempt case.

Mallya was convicted of contempt over transferring $40 million to his children in violation of court orders. He was ordered to return over ₹6,200 crores in dues to multiple banks and had been sued for contempt for failing to disclose payment $40 million from British spirit maker Diageo.

2. The adjudicating authority of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has imposed a penalty of Rs 51.72 crore on Amnesty India International, and Rs 10 crore on its former CEO Aakar Patel for violating The Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

3. ElonMusk says he was terminating his 44 billion Dollar deal to buy Twitter because social media company had breached multiple provisions of merger agreement.

4. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday imposed various restrictions on on four cooperative banks. The restrictions have been imposed for six months and it includes cap on withdrawals for the depositors.

They are : Ramgarhia Co-operative Bank, New Delhi; Sahebrao Deshmukh Co-operative Bank, Mumbai; Sangli Sahakari Bank, Mumbai; and Sharada Mahila Co-operative Bank Limited, Tumkur, Karnataka. These restrictions have been put under the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

1. Multiple cases have been filed against filmmaker Leena Manimekalai across India, for the poster of her film featuring Goddess Kali. Leena has been charged with promoting enmity between different communities on grounds of religion.

2. ‘Shabaash Mithu’ is balanced, shows success and failures: Director ‘Shabaash Mithu’ director Srijit Mukherji has said that the upcoming film has a balanced approach, adding that it doesn’t show only success but also failures. The film is based on former Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj.

1. The Central govt is now considering the acquisition of an indigenous long-range unmanned aerial vehicle after putting the American predator drone deal on hold due to a push for the Make in India initiative.

2. Defence PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s (HAL) new helicopter factory in Tumkur is ready for operations with establishment of the manufacturing, structural assembly, final assembly-line facilities, helipad, flight hangar, ATC, equipping hangar, admin building and other facilities having been complete.

3. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to brief the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of Defence on the issue of new Recruitment Scheme “Agnipath” for the Armed Force. It is set to meet in New Delhi on July 11, 2022.

4. An army recruitment rally under the new Agnipath scheme will be conducted at Jorhat in Assam from 7 to 23 September to recruit Agniveers in various categories

5. *LAC row* : Indian Army, People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Chona, go longest without talks. The 15th round of talks between the two armies were held on March 11 this year.
