7. In Manipur, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh submitted a resignation letter from the post of Chief Minister of the State to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla. Shri Biren, who led the BJP government in Manipur since the party came to power in 2017, stepped down amid ongoing political developments in the state. His resignation comes after months of unrest in the state and internal party politics.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved an amount of more than 239 crore 35 lakh rupees for roads in Naraingarh, Sadhaura, and Adampur constituencies; water works in Patuwas village of Charkhi Dadri district; construction of a western bypass from Kaithal road to Munak road in Ghogripur of Karnal district; and development works of the Panipat-Safidon-Jind road.

Zojila Pass NH1 Srinagar Leh Highway, an important mountain pass linking Ladakh to Kashmir and beyond, is situated at an elevation of 11,575 feet. In a historic achievement, it has remained open during February for the first time ever, despite the region’s harsh winter conditions. This remarkable achievement is credited to the tireless efforts of the local administration, district authorities, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) project Becon, Project Vjayk Ut Ladakh police and JK police and the Indian Army.

1. In Jammu and Kashmir, Reasi district has extended the ban on the sale, possession and consumption of liquor and non-vegetarian food in Katra, the base camp for pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi shrine by two months.
2. In Chhattisgarh, thirty-one Maoists have been killed in an encounter with security forces in Bijapur district. The bodies of all the killed Maoists have been recovered. Two security personnel have also been martyred in this encounter, while two other jawans have been injured.
3. A special investigation team led by the Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested four people in connection with the alleged adulteration of the famous Tirupati laddus offered as prasad to devotees at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple.

1. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the five-day Aero India show set to begin in Bengaluru today. It will not only showcase India’s defence capabilities but also inspire the younger generation to innovate and dream big.
2. The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited for the procurement of 28 EON-51 systems for 11 New Generation Offshore Patrol Vessels and three Cadet Training Ships for the Indian Navy. The contract will cost over 642 crore rupees. EON-51 is an Electro-Optical Fire Control System which provides search, detection and classification of targets using Electro-Optical and Thermal Imagers devices.
3. In Jammu and Kashmir, the Army on Friday foiled a major infiltration attempt on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keri sector of the Rajouri district after a brief shootout.
