1. Former prime ministers P V Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh as well as agriculture scientist M S Swaminathan will be honoured with the Bharat Ratna, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday.
2. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the Aadi Mahotsav 2024, an annual National Tribal Festival at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi tomorrow. Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda will also be present on the occasion.
3. The Election Commission on Friday said nearly 97 crore Indians will be eligible to vote in this year’s Lok Sabha elections. Over two crore young electors in age group of 18 to 29 years have been added in the voters’ list.
4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Gujarat’ programme tomorrow via video conferencing. During the programme, he will inaugurate and perform Bhoomi Poojan of more than 1.3 lakh houses across Gujarat built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and other housing schemes.
5. The government will bring in a motion on Ram Temple in both Houses of Parliament : In the Lok Sabha, the motion will be brought under Rule 193 and will be moved by BJP MPs Satya Pal Singh, Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Santosh Pande.
In the Rajya Sabha, the motion will be brought under Rule 176 and will be moved by BJP MPs K Laxman, Sudhanshu Trivedi and Rakesh Sinha.
6. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved six projects of Ministry of Railways with total estimated cost of Rs. 12,343 crore (approximately) with 100 per cent funding from the Central Government.
7. The Parliament on Friday cleared a bill to add four groups including Paddari and Pahari in the list of Scheduled Tribes in Jammu and Kashmir. The house approved the Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Tribes Order (Amendment) Bill, 2024, which adds two other communities — Gadda Brahmin and Koli — to the Scheduled Tribes list.
8. Former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao’s daughter and BRS MLC Vani Devi on Friday appreciated the gesture of naming her father for the Bharat Ratna, the nation’s highest civilian award, and praised PM Narendra Modi for the decision.

Rashtriya Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary on Friday signalled that he would be switching over to the National Democratic Alliance ahead of the Lok Sabha polls as he hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his government’s decision to confer Bharat Ratna on his grandfather and former prime minister Chaudhary Charan Singh.
10. Andhra pradesh CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced the names of three YSRC candidates for the Rajya elections. They are Y.V. Subba Reddy, Golla Babu Rao and Meda Raghunatha Reddy.

1. PayTM is facing more trouble as the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced that it will block deposits and credits into EPF accounts linked with Paytm Payments Bank. This comes after India’s central bank RBI imposed restriction on One 97 Communications’ digital payments gateway, starting February 23rd.

1. The Indian Army has reportedly secured a patent for a “Hexacopter Tactical Remotely Piloted Aircraft for Surveillance at High Altitude Areas (HAA), according to an official statement on Friday. The Army Design Group designed the drone, which will be used for surveillance, reconnaissance, and detection tasks.
