1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu will confer the National Panchayat Awards 2024 on Wednesday at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. This year, a total of 45 awardees have been selected under various categories, reflecting a wide spectrum of achievements in grassroots governance and community development.

2. President Smt Droupadi Murmu will address a program organised by the National Human Rights Commission in New Delhi on the occasion of Human Rights Day. This Day is observed every year on 10th December. The theme for this year is “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now”.

3. PM Modi will interact with young innovators at the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon 2024 via video conferencing on the 11th of this month. Over 1,300 student teams will participate in the Grand Finale.

4. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has informed that 15 thousand drones were approved to be provided to the Women Self Help Groups under NAMO Drone Didi Central Sector scheme during the three years ending 2026. The information was provided in the unstarred question tabled in the Rajya Sabha.

5. NABARD is giving monetary support for development of tribal areas under its Tribal Development Fund (TDF) and 1029 projects have been sanctioned in the past 18 years.

6. The Noida International Airport at Jewar has successfully conducted the first flight validation test, paving the way to begin its full-fledged operations next year. Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu was present during the operation of the first flight.

7. In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju informed that Waqf Assets Management System of India (WAMSI) portal has been launched to curate the data of the movable and immovable waqf properties in the country. He said that so far more than 8.72 lakh immovable and 16,713 movable properties have been entered on the WAMSI portal by respective State Waqf Boards (SWBs).

8. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said it is time for the youth brigade to join politics and contribute to the Nations progress to achieve the vision of a Developed India by 2047.

Addressing the programme organised by Ramakrishna Math in Ahmedabad through video conference, the Prime Minister said that the nation must prepare its youths to lead in every sector of the economy including politics.

9. BJP leader Rahul Narvekar was unanimously elected as the Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

10. The implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) System in Manipur has completed five years today. The system was implemented on 9th December 2019 in the State by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA Government to protect and save indigenous population of the State.

11. A four-day special session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly began in Ranchi with the welcoming of newly elected members to the house. Chief Minister Hemant Soren along with all eighty MLAs took oath of the houses.

12. The Winter Session of Karnataka Legislature began yesterday. The ten-day session is being held in Suvarna Soudha at Belagavi.

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah unveiled an 11-ft tall statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, in the presence of Union Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and other dignitaries. The statue, made of several metals and weighing 1,100 kilograms.

14. Former Puducherry Chief Minister and veteran political leader M.D.R Ramachandran passed away following prolonged age related ailments. He was 90.
Shri Ramachandran served as Chief Minister of Puducherry twice from 1980 to 1983 and from 1990 to 1991. He was also Speaker of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly from 2001 to 2006.

15. Aam Aadmi Party released a second list of 20 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

1. Manipur Government withdrew temporary suspension of internet and mobile data services in the jurisdiction of nine districts of the State from yesterday. The State Government suspended mobile and internet data services in the jurisdiction of six valley districts and three hill districts since 16th of last month after widespread protests erupted in valley districts condemning the kidnapping and killing of six innocent civilians in Jiribam district.

2. More than five crore fake ration cards have been identified and eliminated in the last 10 years. Addressing the media on the digital infrastructure and digital connectivity in New Delhi, Minister of State for Environment Kirti Vardhan Singh said.

3. BJP criticized Congress leaders for their alleged link with the US-based George Soros Foundation. Briefing media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi alleged that there is an organisation called Forum of Democratic Leaders in Asia-Pacific and it has four co-chairs. He accused Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, as the chairperson of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, is one of the co-chairpersons of the Forum of Democratic Leaders in Asia-Pacific.

4. India has overtaken the US and Canada to become the top target for mobile malware attacks, accounting for 28% of global incidents. A sharp increase in phishing and trojan attacks, particularly targeting the financial sector, highlights the vulnerability of Indian users and businesses.

5. The Telangana high court on Monday imposed a fine of Rs 30 lakh on former Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh for suppressing and misrepresenting facts related to his German citizenship.

1. Sanjay Malhotra will be the next governor for the Reserve Bank of India. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his name. He has been appointed to the post for a period of three years starting from the 11th of this month. Mr. Malhotra will succeed Shaktikant Das.

2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the ninth edition of its statistical publication, Handbook of Statistics on Indian States, 2023-24. This publication provides extensive data on regional economies across India, covering socio-demographics, health, state domestic product, agriculture, environment, industry, infrastructure, banking, and fiscal indicators.

1. INS Tushil multi role stealth guided missile frigate commissioned into Indian Navy in Russia.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commissioned the Indian Navy’s latest multi-role stealth-guided missile frigate ‘INS Tushil’ at Yantra Shipyard in Kaliningrad, Russia. Defence Minister arrived in Moscow on a three-day visit to Russia.

2. The Indian Coast Guard conducted the second bilateral meeting with the Philippine Coast Guard in New Delhi. This meeting is a part of the ongoing cooperation framework established under the agreement signed between the two Coast Guards.

3. India’s recent military space exercise, Antariksha Abhyas 2024, marks a significant shift in the country’s approach to safeguarding its space infrastructure and enhancing its capabilities in space warfare. Conducted from November 11 to 13, 2024, this exercise is India’s first comprehensive military drill focused on space defense, organized by the Defence Space Agency (DSA).

4. What Is ‘Kharga’ Kamikaze, Indian Army’s High-Speed Drone : The Kharga Kamikaze drone represents a significant advancement in India’s military technology, developed by IIT Kanpur and the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL). These drones, often referred to as “loitering munitions” or “suicide drones,” are designed for precision strikes against enemy targets by crashing into them.

5. On Monday, 9 December 2024, the Border Security Force (BSF) in Punjab successfully neutralized an intruding drone and recovered a packet of heroin on the Amritsar border. This operation was part of ongoing efforts to counter cross-border smuggling attempts by Pakistan-based smugglers, particularly during the foggy season that facilitates such activities.
