1. Indian Navy celebrates Submarine Day honouring the Tiger Shark legacy of INS Kalvari Indian Navy celebrates Submarine Day on December 8, highlighting INS Kalvari’s legacy and the diverse fleet, showcasing India’s commitment to maritime security.

INS Kalvari served as a testament to Indo-Soviet collaboration. The name “Kalvari,” derived from Malayalam, meaning tiger shark, epitomizes agility, strength, and predatory power—attributes reflected in the deep-sea predator inhabiting the Indian Ocean.

2. Nigeria interested in acquiring up to 15 TEJAS MK-1A from India to replace obsolete fleet of Chinese Chengdu F-7NI.

Addressing the Passing Out Parade (POP) as the reviewing officer, Chief of Defence Staff of Sri Lanka Gen Shavendra Silva congratulated them on the successful completion of their rigorous training .

7. The Ministry of Defence has sealed a contract with Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) to boost India’s digital armed forces, said the ministry on Friday. The Rs 588.68-crore contract aims to advance India’s digital defence capabilities through the acquisition of the digital coast guard (DCG) project under the Buy (Indian) category.

8. Indian Navy Lt Cdr Vipin Sheoran has etched his name in history by conquering the grueling Ironman triathlon at Busselton, Australia. Competing against over 1,400 international athletes, Sheoran displayed remarkable endurance, completing the 3.8km sea swim, 80km cycling leg, and 42.2km run in an impressive 11 hours 55 minutes.
