1. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh for two days. heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal till today.

2. Both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned sine die yesterday. The Budget Session of Parliament began on 22nd of the last month and it was due to conclude on Monday. Speaker Om Birla said, 15 meetings were held in this session which lasted for 115 hours.

3. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said, around 22 hours discussions were held on Union Budget in the Upper House. He said, the House sat for 90 hours during the session.

4. The joint committee of Parliament to examine the Waqf (Amendment) Bill will have 31 members — 21 from the Lok Sabha and 10 from the Rajya Sabha — and will submit its report by the next session.

5. The Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that the Election Commission is committed to conducting assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest and will not allow any internal or external forces to derail the electoral process.

6. PM Modi will visit Wayanad in Kerala today to review relief and rehabilitation efforts. He will reach Kannur and, from there, conduct an aerial survey of the landslide-affected area in Wayanad.

7. BJP MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha belonging to ST and SC communities met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Parliament House. The MPs jointly submitted a memorandum regarding the Supreme Court’s observation on the creamy layer for ST and SC.

8. The Carriage of Goods by Sea Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha yesterday. The bill was introduced by the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal. The bill aimed to provide the responsibilities, liabilities, rights and immunities attached to carriers with respect to the carriage of goods by sea.

9. The Railways (Amendment) Bill 2024 was introduced in the Lok Sabha. The bill was introduced by the Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The bill seeks to amend the Railways Act 1989.

10. On the anniversary of the Quit India Movement, PM Modi has paid homage to those who participated in this movement led by Mahatma Gandhi. In a social media post. PM Modi also changed his profile picture on his social media handles to Tricolour ahead of Independence Day.

11. As a part of its Nationwide Campaign Har Ghar Tiranga, Bhartiya Janta party will hold Tiranga Yatra events in every assembly constituency from the 11th to the 13th of August.

12. The Uttar Pradesh government has set a target of hoisting nearly 4.50 crore tricolours from 13 to 15 August across the state under ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced this during inauguration of the ‘Kakori Train Action’ centenary festival in Lucknow.

13. *BANGLADESH UNREST* : Hyderabad police on high alert against illegal Rohingya infiltration: Telangana DGP Dr Jitender said on Friday that police in the state are on high alert and keeping a close watch in the wake of unrest in Bangladesh and the possibility of illegal entry of Bangladeshis into Telangana.

14. The Union Cabinet on Friday asserted that there was no provision for a creamy layer in the reservation for SCs and STs in the Constitution given by B R Ambedkar.

15. The Maharashtra Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has approved the Maharashtra Logistics Policy 2024. This policy is designed to boost the state’s economy by generating about ₹30,573 crore in revenue and creating around 500,000 jobs over the next five years.

16. Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) have developed a new machine learning framework called ‘LEAP’ that significantly improves the process of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) for Integrated Circuits (ICs).

18. The West Bengal government and UNICEF have teamed up to encourage fathers to play an active role in promoting breastfeeding among new mothers. 1. The Supreme Court grants bail to AAP leader Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia yesterday in liquor policy case. He
walked out of Tihar jail after the Supreme Court granted him bail in cases registered against him.

2. The Supreme Court rejected a plea to delay the 2024 NEET-PG exam, scheduled for August 11. The court said it will be unjust to risk the future of two lakh students while rejecting a petition that argued the assigned exam cities were too inconvenient for some candidates.

3. Federal agencies, in collaboration with the Interpol, on Friday brought dreaded Khalistani terrorist Tarsem Singh, the brother of Canada-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) leader Lakhbir Landa, to India after completing extradition formalities in the UAE. He was taken into custody upon arrival by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

4. The police in Bareilly arrested a suspected killer involved in a series of murders targeting middle-aged women in the district during the past year. The 35-year-old accused, identified as Kuldeep Kumar, has confessed to killing six women.

5. Five Gujarat IAS officers face medical re-evaluation after Puja Khedkar case. The Gujarat General Administration Department launched the investigation following the high-profile case of Puja Khedkar.

6. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has charge-sheeted four persons, including a Pak-based terrorist, for the killing of two non-local civilians by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its offshoot The Resistance Front (TRF), in Kashmir in February this year.

1. SJVN Limited on Thursday announced the commissioning of its 90 MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project in Madhya Pradesh. On commissioning of the project, total installed capacity of SJVN has been increased to 2466.50 MW.

2. Gautam Adani, the 62-year-old chairman of the Adani Group, plans to retire at 70, passing control to his sons and their cousins in the early 2030s. In an interview with Bloomberg News, Adani emphasised the importance of a well-planned succession for business sustainability.

3. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved eight projects of the Ministry of Railways with a total estimated cost of Rs 24,657 crore.

1. *Mission completed 👌💯 as army withdraws from Wayanad*: Concluding their ten-day-long rescue efforts in Wayanad, where they had sweated through the landslide-hit, slushy, tragic terrain, the 500-strong Indian Armed Forces finally wrapped up their mission on Thursday.

2. The Indian Army recently conducted a military exercise called ‘Parvat Prahaar’ in the Ladakh region, which is located near the India-China border. This exercise focuses on preparing soldiers for high-altitude warfare, which involves fighting in the difficult and mountainous terrains.

3. A Brazilian delegation is set to visit India this month to discuss the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. This visit follows years of interactions between the Brazilian government and its military with the Indo-Russian joint venture product, dating back to 2009.

4. Brazil is currently engaged in negotiations with India regarding the incorporation of the Akash-NG missile system into its Army and the maintenance of Scorpene-class submarines for its Navy. These discussions are part of a broader effort to enhance defence cooperation between the two nations.

5. The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed a Bullet Proof Jacket (BPJ) consisting of the lightest Front Hard Armour Panel (FHAP). This jacket has been developed in two configuration viz. In-Conjunction-With (ICW) and Standalone with different areal density of FHAP.

6. Group Captains Shubhanshu Shukla & Prashanth Nair, who reached Houston, US, they will be part of the Axiom-4 mission to the International Space Station (ISS), have begun their training routine.

7. *Indian Army Inducts Tiny Kamikaze Drones For Counter-Terror Operations* : only 15 cm long and weighing 260 grams, will search for terrorists hiding in houses and eliminate them. This drone, named Hover-B and developed by Zulu Defence, is already inducted in the Indian Army.

8. Three Chinese research vessels are currently operating in the Indian Ocean Region and are being tracked by the Indian Navy.The latest satellite images show that these vessels – Xiang Yang Hong 03, Zhong Shan Da Xue and Ying Wang 7 – are in the neighbourhood.
