1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with students across the country in the second episode of the Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026 this morning. The programme is scheduled to be telecast at 10 am across multiple platforms. With board exams around the corner, the interaction will focus on addressing exam stress, preparation strategies, time management and helping students approach tests with confidence.

The initiative aims to enable citizens, researchers, businesses and policymakers to integrate official data seamlessly into modern analytical tools.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin on Sunday (February 8, 2026) wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi detailing the status of land acquisition for Railway projects in the State and sought his intervention for their speedy execution. He called for timely release of funds for land acquisition and the revival of projects placed in abeyance.

1. The Government has debunked a video circulating on social media claiming that the India-US trade agreement will harm Indian farmers. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) informed that the claim is misleading. The Unit added that the AI-generated video is being circulated with the intent to spread confusion.

2. The Supreme Court has sought a response from the Governments of India and the State of Tamil Nadu in a plea by depositors from T.N. for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into an alleged Ponzi scheme run by the Universal Trading Solutions Private Limited, a Coimbatore-based company.

3. Bhole Baba Dairy which supplied ghee to the TTD during the YSRC rule, was found to have heavily used monoglycerides, a chemical substance, in the ghee. the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe revealed that adulterated ghee was supplied for the manufacturing of the laddu prasadam at Tirumala, Tirupati, Andhrapradesh.

1. Indian Navy’s sail training ship INS Sudarshini concluded her first port call at Salalah in Oman highlighting historic seafaring links between India and Oman and reinforcing friendship of the bridge of between the two navies.

INS Arnala, the Indian Navy’s first indigenously designed and built Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft, marks a major milestone in India’s shift from a “Buyer’s Navy” to a “Builder’s Navy”. The induction of the vessel reflects the growing maturity of India’s domestic shipbuilding ecosystem under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision and the focus on self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
