1. BJP has retained power in Gujarat for a record 7th time with a landslide victory in the assembly. The BJP has won 156 seats in 182 member assemblies Congress 17 seats.
Aam Aadmi Party 5 seats & Independent candidates registered 3 seats.
2. Congress gained the majority in Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls. Congress has won 40 seats while BJP has got 25. Independents have won three seats. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has won from Seraj Constituency, defeating his nearest Congress rival Chet Ram.
3. By-elections results: BJP and Congress bag two seats each; BJD, RLD and SP one each
The Congress retained its two assembly seats – Bhanupratappur in Chhattisgarh and Sardarshahar Assembly seat in Rajasthan’s Churu district.
BJP won Rampur Sadar assembly seat in UP and Kurhani constituency in Bihar.
The BJD won in Odisha, winning Padampur assembly seat in Bargarh district.
Dimple Yadav of Samajwadi Party retained Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat in UP.
Khatauli seat in UP, won by Samajwadi Party ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD).
4. The national capital has got its first transgender councillor after Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Bobby Kinnar has won the civic polls from Sultanpuri-A ward.
5. Lok Sabha scheduled to take up the Multi-State Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2022 for consideration and passing.
