Sedition law needs no reconsideration: The Centre defended sedition law before Supreme Court saying that a 1962 verdict by a five-judge SC bench upholding the law is “binding, continues to be a good law and needs no reconsideration”. It asked the apex court to dismiss the pleas challenging the validity of sedition, saying that a three-judge bench cannot hear a legal challenge to the law.

After the Punjab Police team took Mr Bagga away, his father filed a complaint at the Janakpuri police station in West Delhi alleging he has been abducted. Delhi Police has lodged an FIR in this regard.

1. The Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) will remain open for subscription on Saturday and Sunday.
2. Reserve Bank of India has directed all banks to keep their window open to allow applications for LIC IPO even on Sunday. It will remain open for investors till May 9. The indicative price range has been set at 902 to 949 rupees per share.

2. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is a road construction executive force in India that provides support to and is now a part of the Indian Armed Forces. BRO develops and maintains road networks in India’s border areas and friendly neighboring countries. This includes infrastructure operations in 19 states and three union territories (including Andaman and Nicobar Islands) and neighboring countries such as Afghanistan, Bhutan, Myanmar, Tajikistan and Sri Lanka.
