Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya launched the Intensified Mission Indradhanush

1. India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 170 Crore landmark milestone

2. Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda introduces the Constitution (ST) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2022 in Lok Sabha. The Amendment Bill seeks to add certain communities to the list of Scheduled Tribes in relation to the state of Tripura.

3. Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya launched the Intensified Mission Indradhanush 4.0 in New Delhi on 07 Feb to protect children and pregnant women from severe diseases. It is a special drive to ensure full immunization coverage in the country.

4. This mission will be focussed on those districts where the vaccination coverage is comparatively lower. It will be run in two phases. The first phase will be from February to April in 12 states and the second phase will be from March to May this year. Under the Mission Indradhanush 4.0, 12 vaccines will be administered to the children.

5. The Centre has cancelled the auction of dated security scheduled on 11th of this month (Feb). A statement issued by the Ministry of Finance said, on review of the Government of India’s cash position, it has been decided, in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India, to cancel auction of all the Securities scheduled to be held on 11th February 2022.

6. Dr Reddy’ Laboratories said the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has granted approval to the single-shot Sputnik Light vaccine for restricted use in emergency situation in India.

7. The government said 24 crore 75 lakh unorganized workers have been registered on eSHRAM portal till 1st of this month.

What is eSHRAM?

The Ministry of Labour & Employment has developed eSHRAM portal for creating a National Database of Unorganized Workers (NDUW) for optimum realization of their employability and extend the benefits of the social security schemes to them.

Benefits of registration on e-SHRAM Portal?
After registering, he/she will get an Accidental Insurance cover of 2 Lacs under PMSBY. In future, all the social security benefits of unorganized workers will be delivered through this portal. In emergency and national pandemic like situations, this database may be utilized for assistance.

8. Power Minister R.K Singh virtually launched Powerthon-2022, a hackathon competition to find technology driven solutions to solve the complex problems in power distribution and to ensure quality and reliable power supply.

15. J&K, Lieutenant Governor launches J&K Single Window Clearance System and its integration with the National Single Window system. Single Window Clearance System is a historic move by the UT Government to facilitate investments in J&K.

What is the meaning of single window?
A single window is defined as a facility that allows parties involved in trade and. transport to lodge standardized information and documents with a single entry point. to fulfill all import, export, and transit related-related regulatory requirements.

16. KARNATAKA : After days of protest, students wearing Hijab have been allowed to enter the campus of Government PU College on Monday in Kundapura area of Udupi district in Karnataka. However, such students will be seated in separate classrooms, informed the school administration.

17. MAHARASHTRA : The Palghar district administration has issued an order to provide a separate crematorium for transgender people in Maharashtra to enable them to perform the last rites of their community members. Identity cards will be issued for them to avail such benefits, said Collector Dr Manik Gursal.

19. Former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat on Monday informed through Twitter that actress Rimi Sen has joined the Congress party ahead of the Uttarakhand Assembly elections. In 2017, Sen had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

20. WEST BENGAL:West Bengal govt launched an open-air classroom programme ‘Paray Shikshalaya’ (neighborhood schools) on Monday for primary and pre-primary students. The government has selected parks and clubs to hold physical classes for students of classes 1-7, said Bengal minister Firhad Hakim. COVID-19 protocols are being maintained

22. India’s export of Tractors rose by more than 73% to 1,025 Million dollars during April-December 2021 compared to 594 Million dollars during April-December 2013. Major destination for export of tractors is USA 25.2%, Nepal 7.3%, Bangladesh 6.5%, Thailand 5.4% and Sri Lanka 5.3%.

23. The Madhya Pradesh government on Monday announced the establishment of a music academy and a museum showcasing late veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar’s songs at her birthplace Indore. A statue of the singer will also be installed in the city. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called her the daughter of Madhya Pradesh, adding that her heart throbbed for the state.

24. Bollywood actress Mahi Gill and Punjabi actor Hobby Dhaliwal joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of Punjab polls.

25. Rajinikanth’s next film to be directed by Nelson Dilip kumar: Report
Actor Rajinikanth in this summer. The film will have a theatrical release in the period between December 2022 and February 2023, the report claimed.

26. Alia Bhatt-starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ will be screened five times between February 16 and February 20 at 72nd Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has issued a request for proposal (RFP) recently on 1 February for the procurement of 220 air defence (AD) towed guns and 1,41,576 rounds of ammunition for the Indian Army under the ‘Buy and Make (India)’ category, along with providing training maintenance for the guns. This is the third RFP after it was first issued in October 2021.
