1. Blood Moon September 2025: A Rare 82-Minute Lunar Eclipse to Dazzle Skies Across Asia, Africa, and Europe
2. ISRO Chief announced that the Kulasekarapattinam launch complex in Tamil Nadu, spanning 2300 acres, is expected to be ready by December 2026 and will support around 20-25 annual launches of Small Satellite Launch Vehicles (SSLV) carrying up to 500 kg payloads.

The three-decade-old tradition of auctioning the laddu offered to Balapur Ganesh in Hyderabad, Telangana reached a fresh milestone on Saturday (September 6, 2025) morning, when the sweet offering was sold for ₹35 lakh. The iconic laddu, weighing 21 kilograms and standing around two feet tall with a tapering crown, drew spirited bidding before setting this year’s record.
Such laddu auctions are a popular tradition in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, where devotees and business communities bid for the “prasadam” believing it brings prosperity, good fortune, and blessings of Lord Ganesha.

3. Kerala Congress on Saturday admitted to a serious lapse in judgment after a controversial social media post linking Bihar with “bidis” triggered a political storm. The party deleted the post and issued a public apology following widespread criticism.

5. A huge drug manufacturing syndicate operating in Telangana was busted by the Mira Road Police of Maharashtra’s Thane district on Saturday, with the officials seizing MD (mephedrone) drugs worth Rs 12,000 crore.
6. According yo reports, , V K Sasikala, a close aide of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, had allegedly paid ₹450 crore in old high-denomination currency notes to buy a sugar factory during demonetisation in 2016, according to an FIR lodged by the CBI.

Six people have lost their lives after the ropeway cable broke at Pavagadh in Panchmahal district of Gujarat today. The accident occurred when the ropeway cable, which was being prepared to carry construction materials from the famous pilgrimage site of Pavagadh to the temple, broke.

1. The South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) 2025 began on Friday. It is one of the biggest award ceremonies celebrating excellence in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam cinema.
Telugu films Pushpa 2: The Rule and Kalki 2898 AD won big on day 1 of the South Indian International Movie Awards 2025 (SIIMA) in Dubai on Friday.
2. Actor Akshay Kumar will celebrate his 58th birthday on September 9. His next movie will be his 200th film.
3. Ashwin Kumar’s animation film, MAHAVATAR NARIMSHA, demonstrates remarkable box office resilience, securing ₹8.15 crore in its sixth week. The Hindi version significantly contributed ₹185.12 crore, surpassing other films’ sixth-week collections.
The film is expected to show a spike again over the weekend but it will be a controlled spike as many films have released this Friday from Baaghi 4 to The Bengal Files to The Conjuring : Final Rites and there would be a hold over from Param Sundari and Coolie as well.

1. Lieutenant Parul Dhadwal, a newly commissioned from Punjab, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the gold medal for standing first in the order of merit at Officers Training Academy (OTA). She has also become the fifth-generation officer in a family with a long martial tradition. Lt Dhadwal, who is also the first woman officer in her family, has been commissioned into the Army Ordnance Corps after passing out from OTA, Chennai, on Saturday.
2. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is set to dispatch a delegation to the United States later this month for the fifth round of negotiations with General Electric (GE) regarding the joint production of the GE F414-INS6 engines in India.These engines are earmarked for the indigenous TEJAS MK-2 fighter and the initial tranche of India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA).

INS Vishal carrier under construction at Cochin Shipyard LimitedThe Indian Navy’s plan to build a third aircraft carrier is a central feature of the recently released Technology Perspective and Capability Roadmap (TPCR) 2025, a comprehensive 15-year defence modernization blueprint unveiled by the Ministry of Defence.

DRDO has transferred three advanced materials technologies to industry partners to boost defence self-reliance, including high-strength radomes to BHEL for missile systems, DMR-1700 steel sheets to JSPL for defence applications, and DMR 249A HSLA steel plates to BSP (SAIL) for naval vessel construction.
5. The Indian Army on Thursday said it has hosted an annual briefing here for defence attaches of foreign countries posted in India to discuss contemporary issues affecting global peace and security, and New Delhi’s perspective on those.
