5. CHANDIGARH: traffic police’s Road Safety Awareness Week 2022 concluded with a two-wheeler rally on Saturday. The initiative was aimed at highlighting the importance of helmets for women. Around 200 women two-wheeler riders took part in the rally and displayed slogans on road safety. Special awareness workshops were organised in various colonies of the city and nearby villages.

7. HIMACHAL : A mobile dental van worth ₹34.53 lakh was launched in Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of National Dentist’s Day on Sunday. CM Jairam Thakur, who flagged off the van, said it would help in organising dental treatment camps at schools and other far-flung areas where facilities weren’t available. The van is equipped with a fully-automatic chair and other accessories.

He said that DNA, Cyber, Mobile, Documentation and Audio-Video sections have been already opened here but there’s a need to establish a Narcotics section. 12. MAHARASHTRA : PM Modi on 07 Mar unveiled a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the premises of Pune Municipal Corporation.
The statue is made up of 1,850 kg of gunmetal and is about 9.5-feet tall.
13. RAJASTHAN: A local Jaipur court has issued notices to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Chief Whip Mahesh Joshi and others in the 2020 phone-tapping case. They have been summoned to appear before the court on March 16. The notices were issued on a revision petition filed by advocate OP Solanki.
14.TELANGANA: Social Welfare Minister K. Eshwar has assured that the State govt will extend necessary help for the transgender community and resolve their issues. Interacting with them in Hyderabad yesterday, he assured that he will bring the problems being faced by the community to the notice of the Chief Minister and resolve them at the earliest.
15. The Telangana state Cabinet, approved the Budget for 2022-23 that will be presented in the Legislative Assembly on 07 Mar, Monday. CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao reportedly discussed several issues with regard to allocating funds to different sectors with the Cabinet. Finance minister T. Harish Rao will present the Budget in the Assembly.
16. TRIPURA: govt is planning to convert the old Central Jail compound into a library named after Bangladesh’s father of the nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The former Bangladesh PM had, according to historians, spent a night at the complex during Bangladesh’s liberation war before meeting the then Tripura CM. The govt is expected to defer the mega initial public offering (IPO) of LIC to the next financial year as the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war has dampened fund managers’ interest in the public issue, market experts said on 06 Nar(Sunday). The government was looking to sell 5 per cent stake in Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) this month, which could have fetched over Rs 60,000 crore to the exchequer.

23. Indian Navy successfully demonstrated the accuracy of an extended-range land-attack Brahmos supersonic cruise missile from the stealth destroyer INS Chennai on 05 Mar. The missile hit its intended target with pinpoint accuracy after traversing an extended range trajectory and performing complex manoeuvres.
24. Security forces on 06 Mar, Sunday arrested an active terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) from Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Upon seeing an intensive security check, the terrorist tried to escape but was challenged and later caught, the police said. The terrorist has been identified as Mohammad Altaf Wani, a resident of Shopian’s Keegam village.
25. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is going to organise ‘Desh Ki Hifazat-Desh Ki Suraksha’ programme from March 6 to 13 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
