1. THE BUDGET SESSION OF THE PARLIAMENT RESUMED ON TUESDAY . Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will move the Finance Bill, 2024 for its consideration and passage in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

2. The Jammu and Kashmir Local Bodies Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024.’ passed in Lok Sabha.

3. Lok Sabha passes The Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Caste Order (Amendment) Bill 2023 and The Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Tribes Order (Amendment) Bill, 2023.

4. The Rajya Sabha has passed Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Amendment Bill, 2024. The Bill seeks to amend Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. The Act establishes the central and state pollution control boards to prevent and control water pollution. The Bill decriminalizes several violations and imposes penalties. It will initially apply to Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and the Union Territories.

6. The Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill explicitly bans bigamy and polygamy in the state and lists five conditions for the solemnisation of marriages. The UCC Bill, which was tabled by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in the special session of the Uttarakhand Assembly on Tuesday seeks to “govern and regulate the laws related to marriage and divorce, successions, live-in relationships, and matters related thereto.”

The Bapu Tower, located in Gardanibagh, stands as a testament to the enduring legacy and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. This tower, the first of its kind in the country dedicated to Gandhi, has been completed, marking a significant milestone in the architectural and cultural landscape of Bihar.

11. In Haryana, the work of ‘Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant’ in Yamunanagar, with a capacity of 800 megawatts units, will commence soon. This project will help ensure uninterrupted power supply for the residents of Haryana.

1. Enforcement Directorate Attaches 26.19 Crore Rupees Worth Properties of JD(U) MLC Radha Charan Sah in Bihar.

2. Enforcement Directorate (ED) today raided the premises of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s secretary Bibhav Kumar, Rajya Sabha member ND Gupta and other members of the Aam Aadmi Party. As per sources, the agency has searched 10 locations linked to the personal secretary as part of its money laundering probe in the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) case.

3. Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday carried out simultaneous raids at multiple places in West Bengal, including residences of some state government officers, in connection with its probe into alleged embezzlement of MGNREGA funds.

4. Centre has disallowed installation of mobile towers in core or critical tiger habitats in the country, according to new guidelines by the environment ministry.

5. A two-judge bench of the Telangana High Court comprising Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice J. Anil Kumar on Tuesday appointed a two-member committee, including the Deputy Solicitor-General to inspect 16 lakes in Hyderabad and Rangareddy concerning encroachment. The bench directed the committee to submit the report within three weeks, before the next hearing, scheduled for March 11.

At least eleven people were killed and dozens injured after an explosion leading to a blaze at a firecracker factory in Madhya Pradesh’s Harda on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in the Bairagarh locality on Magardha Road, on the outskirts of Harda town, approximately 150km from the state capital, Bhopal, prompting the state government to seek Army’s helicopters for evacuation.

1. Paytm’s founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma reportedly met the finance Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday, February 6. Earlier in the day, CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma and a few Paytm officials had met the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to discuss regulatory concerns.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) last week ordered Paytm’s banking unit, which powers most of the features of its popular digital payments app, to cease the majority of its operations from March 1 for “persistent non-compliance”, sparking a $2.3 billion rout in the company’s stock.

2. India’s MakeMyTrip and insurance seller PolicyBazaar have told the central bank its crackdown on digital payments firm Paytm will hurt investment in the fast-growing financial-technology sector.

3. HDFC Bank and its group companies have received RBI approval to acquire stake in ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, YES Bank, Bandhan Bank and Suryoday SFB

HDFC Bank, including group companies HDFC Mutual Fund, HDFC Life Insurance and HDFC ERGO General Insurance, have received the Reserve Bank of India’s approval to acquire an aggregate stake of up to 9.5 per cent in six banks.

4. IT, oil and gas stocks lead rise in Indian shares : Indian shares advanced on Tuesday, led by information technology stocks on prospects of a soft landing in the U.S. economy improving and supported by a sustained rally in oil marketing companies.

5. State Bank of India on Tuesday announced that it has got the approval of the executive committee of its central board to acquire a 100 per cent stake held by SBI Capital Markets in SBICAP Ventures. The lender said the cost of the acquisition is Rs 708 crore.

2. An Air Force Officer from Assam Sends Legal Notice To ‘Fighter’ Makers Over Kissing Scene : The makers the Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone-starrer movie “Fighter” have been served a legal notice by an IAF officer over a kissing scene wearing the uniform of the force.

INDIA PROMOTES THE WORLD’S FASTEST MISSILE BRAHMOS AT WORLD DEFENCE SHOW 2024 IN RIYADH : Union Minister of State for Defence & Tourism Ajay Bhatt, India’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, and Additional Secretary Anurag Bajpai were cordially received at the BrahMos Pavilion during the ongoing World Defence Show 2024 in Riyadh.

The portfolio of orders of the Indian-Russian producer of supersonic missiles BrahMos has reached $7 billion, the company’s export director Pravin Pathak.
