1. Ayush Ministry will celebrate Yoga Mahotsav on *WORLD HEALTH DAY* at Red Fort in New Delhi today. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and several Union Ministers will demonstrate Common Yoga Protocol on 75th day of the countdown of the International Day of Yoga.

2. Parliament passes Criminal Procedure (Identification) Bill 2022.

3. Parliament has passed the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2022 with Rajya Sabha approving it on 06 Apr.

4. Union Minister of State for Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh has said that the Government has accorded In-Principle approval for five new sites for locating nuclear power plants in future.

5. Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Wednesday launched the Digital Dashboard for District Ganga Committees in enhancing people-river connect.

6. Education Ministry in consultation with University Grants Commission, All India Council for Technical Education and other stakeholders has initiated the process to ensure the early start of Digital University in the country. The government had announced the establishment of the University in the Union Budget 2022-23.

7. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is offering a free online course in Advanced Geospatial Technologies for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The course aims to help students understand how geospatial technologies can be implemented in disaster management.

8. *ASSAM* : A total of 578 trainee officers in the rank of Sub-Inspectors of Police, including 178 lady trainee officers, belonging to Assam Police have passed out from North Eastern Police Academy after successful completion of the basic course. This is the largest ever batch in the history of NEPA since its inception in the year 1978.

9. *ANDHRA PRADESH* govt has written to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) to prevail upon the Telangana government to not withdraw water only for hydel power generation purposes from the main powerhouse of the Nagarjunasagar project.

10. *BIHAR* : CM Nitish Kumar has announced an ex-gratia of 11 lakh rupees to the next of the kin of CRPFs head constable Vishal who was martyred during terrorist attack in Jammu & Kashmir. He was native of Munger district of Bihar.

11. *DELHI* : The National Capital Delhi will have heat Wave . The minimum temperature will be around 20 degree celsius while the maximum is expected to be around 41 degree Celsius.

12. *J&K* :. The govt has taken several measures to ensure the safety of minorities in the Kashmir valley. These include a robust security and intelligence grid, group security in the form of static guards, day and night area domination, and round-the-clock checking at Nakas.

13. Two terrorists were killed by security forces in a gunfight that broke-out between terrorists and security forces in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

14. *MAHARASHTRA* : Mumbai court has remanded the former Home Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh to 5-day custody with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with a corruption case.

15. *KARNATAKA* : Karnataka govt has decided to increase the subsidy given to SC/ST communities from 15 lakh rupees to 20 lakh rupees under the Land Ownership Scheme.

1. Indian Space Research Organizations (ISRO’s) commercial arms have earned a total Foreign Exchange Revenue of 56 Million US Dollars and 190 Million Euros through launching of satellites from 34 countries as on date.

2. The Union Government, in its objective to give a push to Jal Jeevan Mission in Jammu and Kashmir, has allocated a whopping sum of over Rs 9289 crore to the UT under Jal Jeevan Mission 2022-23, which is nearly more than double to its previous year budget.

3. Petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 80 paise a litre each on Wednesday, taking the total increase in rates in 16 days to Rs 10 per litre.

ENTERTAINMENT:

1. *RRR Movie OTT Release Date* : Netflix is the most popular over-the-top (OTT) platform globally.

The picture will be available on OTT platforms beginning June 3, 2022. While the official release date has yet to be finalised.

Zee5 and Netflix have bought the digital distribution rights to the film, with Netflix distributing the Hindi-dubbed version and Zee5 releasing the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam versions.

2. The Ohio State Senate has presented a citation honouring Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files. Released on March 11, the film is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus during the Kashmir insurgency in 1990.

The citation is jointly signed by Senator Matt Huffman, president of the Ohio Senate and State Senator Niraj Atani

DEFENCE:

1. US F-18 and French Rafale-M demonstrate their capabilities to Indian Navy for
INS VIKRANT at Goa on 21 May.

2. INS Vikrant, will be commissioned on August 15, 2022 the 75th year of Indian independence, by PM Modi. The IAC-1 or INS Vikrant is under exhaustive sea trials and will be in action later this year with MiG-29K fighters on board for the time being.

3. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited will convert pre-owned civil aircraft into air refuelling aircraft with cargo and transport capabilities:. Public sector giant Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has entered into an MoU with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to convert civil passenger aircraft into Multi-Mission Tanker Transport (MMTT) aircraft in India.

At present, the Indian Air Force and Navy jets are refuelled mid-air using the Russian-made IL-78.

4. India and Israel on Wednesday concluded a two-day bilateral workshop on Quantum Technologies (I2QT-2022) organised by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and DRDO-Industry-Academia Centre of Excellence (DIA-CoE) along with Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi (IIT-D).

5. Indian Army chief General Manoj M Naravane visited the Regional HADR Coordination Centre (RHCC) and Information Fusion Centre (IFC) in Singapore.The Army chief was briefed about the Coordination of a Multi-Nation HADR Response Mechanism and measures to enhance Maritime Security.

6. 9th Edition of the India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise which commenced on 25th of March at Special Forces Training School, Bakloh, Himachal Pradesh culminated on 06 Apr Wednesday.

7. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday inaugurated the Air Force Commanders’ Conference AFCC at Air Headquarters in New Delhi. The conference was attended by Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt and Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar along with senior commanders of the Indian Air Force.

8. The first Sail Training Ship of the Indian Navy INS Tharangini embarked on a 14-nation voyage, Lokayan 2022, from the Naval Jetty at the Southern Naval Command in Kochi on 06 Apr. She will call on 17 ports during her seven-month-long voyage, covering a distance of 17,485 nautical miles. The voyage was flagged off by Rear Admiral Antony George, Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command.

9. Department of Military Affairs has finalised a radical proposal for future recruitment to the armed forces. The Army will be the first to try out the concept, which involves recruiting some soldiers for a fixed period of three years. Army will implement the ‘Tour of Duty’ (ToD) concept, first unveiled in 2020.

Currently, an amount of Rs 5.12 crore is spent on an SSC officer who retires after 10 years, and Rs 6.83 crore on one who retires after 14 years. The savings on only 1,000 jawans could be Rs 11,000 crore,” the proposal said, adding that this money could be put towards the modernisation of the Army.
