NSG’s furry K-9 squad will provide special security ring around G20 venues.
This weekend, 20 specially trained security members will be on duty at the G20 venues. Karan, Google, Zorro and their colleagues will be equipped with specialised gear such as night vision glasses, cutely called doggles, even walkie talkies. And every time they sniff out hidden explosives or neutralise hostage takers, they will likely wag their tails because they are four-legged soldiers of the National Security Guard’s elite K-9 squad.

8. Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Malaviya Mission- Teachers Training Programme by the University Grants Commission at Kaushal Bhawan in New Delhi.

9. The Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the United Nations World Tourism Organisation unveiled the G20 Tourism and SDG Dashboard.

12. Voting took place for bypolls to seven Assembly constituencies spread over six States. Counting of votes will take place on 8th of this month.

15. Supreme Court on Tuesday reserved verdict on a batch of pleas challenging abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution which conferred special status on the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir. The five-judge bench of the Supreme Court reserved its order after 16 days of marathon hearings.

16. Andhra Pradesh government has won first place in the country in giving the highest number of agriculture power connections in the 2022-23 financial year. AP is followed by Rajasthan in the second place and Telangana in the third place.

17. The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) extended committee meeting on Tuesday thanked party senior leader Sonia Gandhi for accepting the request by the state unit to hold the CWC meeting in Hyderabad. The party would hold a mega rally on September 17 where Sonia Gandhi will announce five guarantees.

18. MARATHA QUOTA : A delegation of the Maharashtra government, comprising ministers, on Tuesday failed to convince Manoj Jarange, whose hunger strike for Maratha quota entered the 8th day, to withdraw his protest.

19. After 16 days of marathon arguments, a five-judge Bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on Tuesday reserved its verdict on petitions challenging the nullification of Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories – Jammu and Kashmir; and Ladakh.

1. Following the success of OMG 2, Akshay Kumar is all set to be back to the big screen in the month of October with Tinu Suresh Desai’s next film produced by Pooja Entertainment. Jaswant Singh Gill Biopic : CAPSULE GILL is all ready to launch the first teaser of the film this week. A 1-minute long teaser will be launched on Akshay Kumar’s Birthday – September 9.

1. The annual training exercise, Trishul, of the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Western Air Command (WAC) began on September 4. The exercise will see activation of all air assets and force multipliers spread across the Line of Control with Pakistan to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.

2. Indian Army plans to procure 170 tracked Armoured Recovery Vehicles (ARVs) to operate in plain, semi-desert and desert terrain along with high altitude and mountainous terrain.

A Request for Information (RFI) was issued Tuesday by the Army for the procurement of these vehicles from Indian vendors.

3. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to inaugurate 90 BRO projects on september 12. He will visit Samba district and inaugurate Devak bridge on Bishnah-Kaulpur-Phulpur road.
