pm modi announces pm shri scheme for upgrading 14 500 schools

1. PM Modi announces PM-SHRI Scheme for upgrading 14500 school across country on Teachers Day. These PM-SHRI schools will become model schools which will encapsulate the full spirit of National Education Policy.

2. The University Grant Commission launched new research fellowship and research grants schemes on the occasion of Teachers Day.

3. University Grant Commission (UGC) is going to allow students to pursue two full time degree programmes simultaneously.

4. University Grants Commission (UGC) will now monitor and resolve all grievances of students and staff in varsities through a centralised portal called `e-Samadhan`

5. Indian Railways have set up ‘Meghdoot’ machines at Dadar, Thane and other stations of the Mumbai Division. The unique ‘Meghdoot’ machines use innovative technology to convert water vapour in the air into potable water. The contract for setting up 17 ‘MEGHDOOT’, Atmospheric Water Generator Kiosks’ over Mumbai Division of Central Railway under NINFRIS policy for a period of 5 years has been awarded to Maithri Aquatech Pvt Ltd.

6. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Monday met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and discussed the current political situation in the country.

7. KARNATAKA Govt has recently launched “VentuRISE” – Global Startup Challenge, to recognize, reward and support growth stage startups in manufacturing and sustainability related sectors. The Startup Challenge is a part of the Bangalore Palace flagship event to be held from 2nd to 4th November 2022

8. KERALA : Two fishermen were killed and many went missing after a boat carrying about 23 people capsized near Anchuthengu Harbour in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. According to police, 16 people have been rescued so far. The injured were shifted to Chirayinkeezhu hospital for treatment.

9. NAGALAND : 20 teachers from both government and private schools were honoured with state-level teachers award 2022. The awardee teachers received citations from Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at a state-level Teachers’ Day celebration held at Kohima.

10. MEGHALAYA CM Conrad K Sangma has launched the ‘Rural Backyard Piggery Scheme’ to ensure the farmers earn a sustainable livelihood through different livestock farming activities.

11. TELANGANA : Hyderabad Liberation Day: The Government of India approved annual commemoration of “Hyderabad Liberation Day ” for the years 2022 to 2023, for the entire year. The goal is to raise awareness of the tale of sacrifice, heroism, and resistance among the current generation in India as a whole as well as in the region under study.

12. TELANGANA CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao declared on Monday that the TRS would enter national politics under the slogan ‘BJP Mukt Bharat,’ drawing inspiration from the separate statehood movement while promising free power to farmers across the country following the formation of a non-BJP government in the 2024 Parliament elections.

13. UTTAR PRADESH : Bhartaul has become the first village in Uttar Pradesh to achieve the distinction of supplying RO water to every household. Bhartaul is located in Bithiri Chainpur block of Bareilly. It has around 7,000 people and every household is provided with clean and safe RO water.

1. MAHARASHTRA : A Special PMLA court has extended the judicial custody of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s by 14 days till 19 September. He was arrested on July 31 by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the redevelopment of the Patra Chawl in Mumbai.

2. DELHI : Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has sent a legal notice to Aam Aadmi Party and its five leaders over their false, derogatory and malicious allegations of corruption against him. These AAP leaders are Atishi, Durgesh Pathak, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Sanjay Singh and Jasmine Shah.

3. Uttar Pradesh Muslim BJP leader Ruby Asif Khan allegedly received death threats for bringing home and worshipping a Ganesh idol. A fatwa has also reportedly been issued against her by Deoband Mufti Arshad Farooqui who called her action ‘un-Islamic’.

1. India’s Coal Production increases by 8.27 per cent to over 58 MT in Aug 2022.

2. India’s external debt grew by 8.2% to over 620 billion US dollar at the end of March this year. The Union Finance Ministry’s Department of economic Affairs has released the 28th edition of the Status Report on India’s External Debt 2021-22.

According to reports, the External debt as a ratio to Gross domestic product (GDP) fell marginally to 19.9 per cent as of March this year, from 21.2 per cent a year ago.

3. State Bank of India (SBI) released a research report which states that India is likely to become the third largest economy in the world by 2029.

4. Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has given in-principle approval to Helios Capital to launch a mutual fund business. The portfolio management services business, Helios Capital Management PTE Limited, applied for a mutual fund license in February 2021.

ENTERTAINMENT

1. Cuttputlli is Akshay’s fourth film of the year after a string of flops. It was released on Disney+ Hotstar on September 2 to negative reviews. Akshay’s previous film, Raksha Bandhan, tanked at the box office and could only earn a lifetime collection of around Rs 44 crore. His historical drama Samrat Prithviraj did not perform well either, and earned only around Rs 68 crore. Akshay’s first film of the year, Bachchhan Paandey failed as well, and earned around Rs 50 crore.

3. Meta-owned Instagram has been fined €405 million (around $402 million) for allegedly violating children’s privacy, including the publication of children’s email addresses and phone numbers. The fine has been levied by the Irish DPC and is the second highest fine under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3. Indian Army chief General Manoj Pande called on Nepal’s Chief of the Army Staff General Prabhu Ram Sharma at Army Headquarters in Kathmandu on Monday.The Indian Army is in Nepal to enhance existing bilateral defence ties and strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
