1. Nation pays homage to Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar on his 70th Mahaparinirvan Diwas. President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President CP Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, among others, will pay floral tributes at Prerna Sthal in Parliament House complex in New Delhi.

Raajmarg Infra Investment Trust is a public Infrastructure InvestmentTrust aimed at enabling broad-based public participation in national highway monetisation.
5. In view of disruption of flight services of Indigo in the country, Northern Railway has taken measures to help affected travellers by providing extra coaches in trains. To accommodate the increased demand as well as for the convenience of passengers, an additional Third AC coach each has been attached to both the Jammu Tawi Rajdhani and the Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express.

10. Bharat Taxi, India’s ambitious cooperative ride-hailing platform, has begun pilot operations in Delhi and Gujarat, marking a disruptive shift in how cab services are structured in the country. Operated by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited, the platform is being pitched as an Uber and Ola alternative.
11. The Health Security and National Security Cess Bill, 2025, was passed by the Lok Sabha on Friday despite objections by several opposition members, who wanted it referred to the select committee of Parliament, citing it aimed to raise funds through cess on demerit or sin goods such as pan masala.

13. In Telangana, the auction of land parcels at Kokapet concluded on Friday, raising `3,862 crore for the government. On the last day of auction, the government sold a 1.98-acre parcel in the Golden Mile Layout at Kokapet for `153.94 crore.

1. The Government has constituted a four-member committee for the comprehensive review of the circumstances leading operational disruptions of Indigo flights. The committee has been asked to submit a report within 15 days.
2. The crisis stemmed from crew shortages triggered by stricter Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) norms, whose final phase was implemented last month. IndiGo — managing over 60% of India’s domestic market — was unable to adjust operations smoothly, resulting in its punctuality collapsing to 19.7% on December 3, its worst performance registered in recent years.

5. Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a petition seeking a ban on the sale, circulation and display of Arundhati Roy’s book ‘Mother Mary Comes to Me’ that depicted her smoking a bidi/cigarette on its cover, in contravention of the law.
The Bench noted that her literary work did not constitute any violation of Section 5 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003.
