1. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alert for very heavy rainfall in West and North-East India for the next four to five days.

2. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu on Thursday prorogued both Houses of Parliament on the completion of the first session after the formation of the new government.

3. The two day Global India AI Summit 2024 concluded at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. It featured a diverse array of sessions designed to delve deep into critical aspects of AI application, governance and for nurturing talent and scaling AI innovations. Electronics and IT Ministry said, 12 thousand global Artificial Intelligence experts and practitioners and delegates from 50 countries attended the summit.

4. In Assam, there is no respite from the flood fury as several major rivers are flowing above the danger mark. The current wave of floods affected over 16 lakh people while road communication has snapped at multiple locations.

5. Arunachal Pradesh is also grappling with floods following incessant rains since the 29th of June. The Army has been actively involved in extensive flood relief operations in the villages of Sivaguri at Dhemaji district in Assam.

6. The CD Barfiwala flyover in Andheri was thrown open to traffic on Thursday evening after it was successfully connected to the Gopal Krishna Gokhale bridge.

7. The Bihar Health department has decided to offer MBBS course to medical students in Hindi as a medium of instruction. The facility will be available in all 21 medical colleges in the state including 10 state government and two Central government run institutions.

8. The floor test of the new government in Jharkhand, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren who took oath of office for the third time on Thursday, will be held on July 8 during a special session of the Jharkhand legislative assembly.

9. Uttar Pradesh (UP), the state government has passed the draft for the Uttar Pradesh Nodal Investment Region for Manufacturing (Construction) Area Bill (NIRMAN)-2024. This initiative, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is part of a broader strategy to uplift the state’s economy to the one trillion dollar mark.

10. Chemicals and Petrochemicals Secretary Nivedita Shukla Verma inaugurated the four-day Global Conclave on Plastic Recycling and Sustainability and International Exhibition in New Delhi.

11. In Kerala, the Sampoornata Abhiyaan campaign launched by Niti Aayog to accelerate development in Aspirational districts and blocks kick started in Wayanad and Kasaragod districts.

12. Sujata Saunik Appointed Maharashtra’s First Woman Chief Secretary
Sujata Saunik, an IAS officer of the 1987 batch, became the first woman chief secretary of Maharashtra on July 1, breaking a 64-year-old pattern. Saunik assumed office from her predecessor Nitin Kareer in the chief secretary’s office on the sixth floor of Mantralaya. She is set to retire in June next year.

13. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister M. Bhatti Vikramarka today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and discussed various issues related to the state.

14. A day after joining Congress, K. Keshava Rao tendered his resignation from membership of Rajya Sabha on Thursday. He handed the resignation to Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. Mr. Rao was sent to the Rajya Sabha by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in 2020 from Telangana.

15. NITI Aayog launched a nationwide campaign namely Sampoornata Abhiyan with a focus to attain saturation in 12 key social sector indicators in 500 aspirational blocks and 112 aspirational districts. This comprehensive three-month campaign to be focused on themes including health, nutrition, agriculture, social development and education, will continue till September this year.

16. The Ministry of Rural Development and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises join hands to boost strengthening Self Help Group (SHG) women-led rural enterprises through MoMSME’s flagship schemes.

17. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday as part of his two-day visit to Delhi. He discussed various matters pertaining to the state. The Chief Minister paid tributes to revolutionary leader Alluri Sitarama Raju in New Delhi on his birth anniversary.

18. The Andhra Pradesh government has released Rs 1,000 crore for procurement of paddy from farmers. Civil supplies minister Nadendla Manohar told.

19. ISRO’s Aditya-L1 Completes First Halo Orbit : The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on June 2, announced that India’s inaugural solar mission has completed its halo orbit around the Sun-Earth L1 point on 2 July.

The Aditya-L1 mission is an Indian solar observatory installed at the Lagrangian point L1 and was launched in September 2023. ISRO observed that the Aditya-L1 spacecraft completed circling the L1 point in the halo orbit in 178 days. The spacecraft was positioned into the intended halo orbit by ISRO on 6 January 2024.

The Aditya-L1 mission aims to study the Sun’s upper atmosphere, focusing on the chromosphere and corona.

20. Former Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) chief Rajinder Khanna has been promoted to Additional National Security Adviser (NSA). T V Ravichandran and Pavan Kapoor have also been appointed as Deputy NSAs.

1. The Centre has issued an alert against several fake and fraudulent e-mails claiming to be issued by the Central Economic Intelligence Bureau, Cyber Crime and Economic Offence Unit and Cyber Cell of Delhi. The Ministry of Finance informed that the said letter makes allegations of child pornography, pedophilia, cyber pornography, sexual explicit exhibit, grooming leveled against the receivers of the said e-mails.

2. Six persons, including four men and two women, have been arrested in connection with the Hathras stampede that resulted in 121 deaths. While interacting with media, Inspector General (IG) of Police (Aligarh Range) Shalabh Mathur said the six arrested people are members of the organising committee and worked as Sevadars.

3. These six arrested ‘sevadars’ had run away from the site after the stampede occurred. IG Mathur added that a One lakh rupee reward has been announced for information about the main accused Prakash Madhukar.

4. Auto and cab drivers staged a massive protest and besieged the Transport Department office in Shanti Nagar, Bengaluru, on 4 July demanding action against bike taxis.

The protestors demanded action against bike taxis and the implementation of a ‘one city, one cab fare’.

5. Telangana Drugs Control Administration and Pet Basheerabad police conducted raided a manufacturing unit in Dhulapally, Medchal and seized fake medicines worth Rs 23 lakh and equipment valued at Rs 25 lakh on Thursday.

6. Jailed radical preacher Amritpal Singh who is being brought to Delhi on parole to take oath as a Lok Sabha member will be allowed to meet his family but will not be permitted to leave the “territorial jurisdiction” of New Delhi.

7. Another bridge collapsed in Bihar’s Saran district on Thursday, the 10th such incident in the state in just over a fortnight.

8. Six children lost their lives within a span of five days amid a suspected cholera outbreak at a privately-run shelter home in Indore even as a preliminary investigation report has pointed fingers at the facility for alleged irregularities and inadequate maintenance of medical records.
