16. Uttar Pradesh : Violence broke out in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, where farmers were holding protests since this morning over the visit of Union Minister of State for home Ajay Mishra and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Maurya. Eight persons, including four farmers, were killed.
17. Violence broke out after two SUVs allegedly ran over over a group of anti-farm law protesters who were demonstrating against the visit of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya at Tikonia-Banbirpur road in Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday.
18. Indigo airlines has operated the maiden flight on the Agra – Lucknow route under the UDAN 3.0 scheme. The airline has deployed its ATR 72 aircraft on the route. The Agra Airport is a Civil Enclave owned by the Indian Air Force and operated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Lucknow has become the third city connected with Agra via direct flights after Ahmedabad & Bangalore.
19. West Bengal : CM Mamata Banerjee leads by over 45,738 votes in bypoll for Bhabanipur assembly seat after 17 rounds of counting. BJP candidate Priyanka Tibrewal is in second place while CPIM candidate Srijib Biswas is in third place.
20. The pending issues between India and China along the Line of Actual Control would be resolved soon, Army chief Gen Manoj Mukund Naravane said the increase in the deployment by Chinese troops across the border was a matter of concern.
21. The joint military exercise Surya Kiran-15 between the armies of India and Nepal ended on 03 Oct in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. 300 soldiers from both each side took part in the exercise, which started on September 21.
22. Bangladesh Naval Ship (BNS) Somudra Avijan has arrived Visakhapatnam today on a five-day visit to the Eastern Naval Command (ENC). This visit by the Bangladesh Navy is to commemorate Swarnim Vijay Varsh marking the 50th anniversary of 1971 Indo-Pak war, which led to liberation of Bangladesh.
23. Indigenous aircraft carrier likely to be commissioned in August 2022The maiden sea trials of the indigenous aircraft carrier Vikrant have progressed very well and the second phase of trails are expected to begin end October with the third phase planned in December.

25. Defence Ministry issues notification to dissolve Ordnance Factory Board, form seven new DPSUs. Pune-headquartered Munitions India Limited will take over operations of 12 factories including, Ammunition Factory Khadki, Cordite Factory Aruvankadu, High Energy Projectile Factory Tiruchirapalli, and High Explosive Factory Khadki.
26. The resolution by the government notifies the transfer of 41 production units to the seven DPSUs. It also enlists the non-production units, including the training institutes, controllerates of safety, some regional offices and regional market centers which will come under operational control of the DPSUs.
27. Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment 2021 Last Date – 181 Vacancies: The board has began accepting applications from unmarried eligible men and women for a Short Service Commission (SSC) at the Indian Naval Academy starting in June 2022. (INA). For the Short Service Commission, there are 181 openings (SSC). The deadline to apply for the position is October 5, 2021.
