5. Food Corporation of India (FCI) has planned to construct over one hundred 11 Lakh Metric Tonnes capacity modern steel silos at 249 locations in 12 States. These Hub & Spoke model, silos will be constructed under Public Private Partnership with total investment of around 9 thousand 236 crore rupees in three phases over next 3-4 years.
6. Federal Reserve has hiked the interest rates by another 75 basis points, to a range of 3.75 percent to 4 percent. The reason for the Fed’s hawkish monetary stance this year is inflation.

3. Palakkad District Court has issued an ad-interim injunction, directing the makers of ‘Kantara’ to stop playing the song ‘Varaha Roopam’ in theatres and OTT platforms. This comes after Kerala-based band Thaikkudam Bridge accused ‘Kantara’ makers of copying ‘Varaha Roopam’ from their song ‘Navarasam’.
4. Janhvi Kapoor and her family have bought a duplex apartment in Mumbai’s Bandra West area for ₹65 crore, documents accessed by Indextap.com showed. The apartment, with a carpet area of 6,421 sq ft, is located on the first and second floors of a building. The property has been jointly bought by Janhvi, her father Boney Kapoor and sister Khushi Kapoor.

1. US OFFERS TO DEVELOP AMCA JET ENGINE AGAIN WITH INDIA ;. The US has revived an offer to cooperate with India on the development of jet engine technology which could be used to power the MK-2 variant of India’s futuristic Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA).
General Electric (GE) of the US, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of jet engines, has submitted a proposal for the co-development of a 110 kN thrust engine with Indian agencies for the stealth fighter.
2. Zojila Day was commemorated on 1st November, at Zojila War Memorial near Drass. Zojila Day is observed to celebrate the gallant action by Indian troops in ‘Operation Bison’ in 1948 which was launched on the icy heights of Zojila pass, the gateway to Ladakh.
3. The government is planning a 2,500-metre-long airstrip at the Minicoy Island in Lakshadweep, which will allow larger IAF and commercial aircraft to take off. The project holds strategic importance as it will keep an eye on India’s international borders, strengthen area domination and tourism.
Minicoy is the closest island to Kochi, which is also one of the biggest bases for the Navy, and is located at a strategic location. Therefore, the airstrip will help India check the water area, which is being used by China as well as Pakistan.
4. ATMOSPHERIC RE-ENTRY OF MILITARY SPY SATELLITE RISAT-2 : RISAT-2 was launched on 20 April 2009 by PSLV-C12 launch vehicle from the Second Launch Pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR.
RISAT-2 Satellite carried 30 Kg fuel for an initial designed life of 4 years. With the proper maintenance of orbit and mission planning by the spacecraft operations team in ISRO, by economical usage of fuel RISAT-2 provided very useful payload data for 13 years. Since its injection RISAT-2’s radar payload services were provided for various space applications. On re-entry, there were no fuel left in the satellite and hence there are no contaminations or explosion by fuel is expected.
5. Indian embassy in Doha is making efforts to secure the early release and repatriation of eight ex-Navy officers who’ve been detained there. The concerned persons were reportedly working for a private company in Qatar.
