1. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over Northeast India during next 4 to 5 days. It said, isolated extremely heavy rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.

2. In view of some reported cases of Zika virus from Maharashtra, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued an advisory to States highlighting the need for maintaining a state of constant vigil over the Zika virus situation in the country.

The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday gave a six-month extension to retired Indian Administrative Service officer Arun Vir Singh, enabling him to continue working as the chief executive officer of the Yamuna Expressway industrial development authority (Yeida) and the Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) till December-end, 2024.

1. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court extended the judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal until 12th July in connection with the money laundering case related to the now-scrapped Delhi liquor excise policy.

2. A court in Pune on Wednesday allowed Kondhwa police in the city to take custody of builder Vishal Agarwal, the father of the juvenile involved in the Kalyani Nagar Porsche crash, in a cheating case.

The police last month filed a case of alleged cheating and criminal intimidation against Agarwal and his father after Mushtaq Momin, a real estate agent, accused the father-son duo and another person of failing to pay him a commission of Rs 1.32 crore.

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable Kulwinder Kaur, who was suspended after she allegedly slapped BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport last month, has been transferred to Bengaluru.

CISF suspended Kulwinder Kaur after the incident on June 6 at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport and launched an internal inquiry against her. A case of assault was also registered against Kaur at the Airport Police Station after the incident.

1. The 16th “Nomadic Elephant” Joint Military Exercise started between the Indian Army and the Mongolian Army from 3 July 2024, it will continue till 16 July 2024 in Umroi, Meghalaya.

2. The Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief, Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari, inaugurated the Weapon Systems School (WSS) in Hyderabad, marking a significant advancement for the IAF. Established to recalibrate and transform the IAF into a future-oriented force, the WSS aims to provide contemporary, effect-based training to officers of the newly formed Weapon Systems (WS) branch.

3. Rear Admiral Biplab Hota, VSM, officially took over as the Chief of Staff (COS) of the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC), succeeding Rear Admiral Sandeep Sandhu, NM.

4. Reshuffling command:

(a) General Dwivedi’s elevation to Army Chief has led to the appointment of Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani as the new Vice Chief (Co-Chief).

(b) Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma has been appointed to lead the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) in Shimla.

(c) The Lucknow-based Central Command will now be under the leadership of Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta.

(d) In Jaipur, the South-West Command (Sapt-Shakti) will be led by Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, who was formerly in charge of the Army Training Command.

5. India has successfully test-fired its first indigenous anti-radiation missile, the Rudram-1, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the Indian Air Force (IAF). This significant milestone not only strengthens India’s defense capabilities but also places it among a select group of nations with advanced anti-radiation missile technology.

6. General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), felicitated Lt Col Sanjeev Malik, Maj Anish George, Capt Stephen Sebastian, and Capt Dania James for their exceptional performance at the 43rd World Medical & Health Games.

The event, held in St. Tropez, saw these officers secure a remarkable total of 19 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals.

7. Indian Navy Recruitment 2024: The Indian Navy is accepting online applications from interested and capable candidates for the post of Executive and Technical Branch. The candidates must have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+02 Pattern) or its equivalent examination from any recognized board. The selection will be determined through the SSB interview.

In order to apply for Indian Navy Recruitment 2024, the applicants should be born between 02 July 2005 and 01 January 2008 (both dates inclusive). As informed by the official notification for Indian Navy Recruitment 2024, capable and deserving applicants can apply online through the official website on or before the due date of the submission. The online registration has started on 6.07.2024.
