Sensex crosses 65,000, Nifty hits record high
The Sensex crossed 65,000 for the first time after rising over 300 points at 9:30 am, while the Nifty 50 was trading at a fresh record high of 19,283 after gaining 94.20 points. Notably, the Nifty Auto index also experienced an upswing, climbing by 0.66 per cent and establishing a record high. Likewise, the Nifty Bank index, which carries substantial weightage, achieved an all-time high, adding to the overall positive sentiment in the market.

1. Wrong signalling was the main reason behind the triple train accident in Odisha’s Balasore in June, a report on the findings of a high-level inquiry said.
2. Supreme Court will hear a plea filed by AAP-led Delhi government against Centre’s ordinance on Delhi services on Tuesday. Through the ordinance, the Centre made Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor the final arbiter over the control of services, including appointment and transfer of officers. The Delhi government has accused the Centre of trying to take illegal control of Delhi.
3. A Supreme Court will hear petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370 on July 11. A five-member bench comprising Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice B R Gavai and Justice Surya Kant will hear the case. Article 370 was scrapped on 5 August 2019.
4. The CBI on Monday filed a chargesheet against former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi and Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav for their alleged involvement in the land-for-jobs scam.

1. Ramanand Sagar’s popular Hindi serial ‘Ramayan’ will make its return to television from 3 July. On the occasion of Guru Purnima from 7:30 pm onwards on Shemaroo TV.
The return of the epic on the television comes days after Prabhas-starrer Adipurush, a movie ‘inspired’ by Ramayan, faced outrage from viewers across the country over its off-putting dialogues, that were later amended, and portrayal of characters.
