Since its launch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015, PRAGATI has transformed governance by enabling real-time monitoring and resolution of key infrastructure projects and public grievances through direct Prime Ministerial review.

Two Hyderabad-based space technology start-ups, TakeMe2Space and EON Space Labs, have successfully tested and integrated a 14-kilogram Earth observation mini-satellite named MOI-1, along with a miniature space telescope called MIRA, in Ahmedabad before shipping the payload to Sriharikota for an upcoming ISRO PSLV launch expected in early January 2026.

1. Dr Bilal Naseer Malla, a key accused in the devastating Red Fort blast case, appeared before a Delhi court on Saturday.The Patiala House Court remanded him to judicial custody until 16 January, marking a significant phase in the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) ongoing probe.

2. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a Kashmiri separatist leader and chief cleric of the region, has issued a stark warning about an impending crisis in Kashmir through a social media statement.

3. Home Minister Amit Shah has said that three new criminal laws will ensure time-bound justice from the Sessions Court to the Supreme Court by 2029. He made these remarks while chairing a Parliamentary Consultative Committee meeting of the Ministry of Home Affairs at Sri Vijaya Puram in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

4. Two terrorist organisations, Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and the Punjab Sovereignty Alliance (PSA), have claimed responsibility for a powerful blast in Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh.The incident occurred on Thursday morning near the local police station, where an improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated, leaving a two-and-a-half-foot-deep crater at the site.

5. A total of 20 Maoists, including the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army Battalion Commander of the banned CPI Maoists has surrendered before Telangana Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy in Hyderabad.

6. The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu cognisance of the Dharamshala ragging and sexual assault case in which a 19-year-old female student died during treatment. The Commission has strongly condemned the act, terming it heinous, inhuman, and reprehensible.

7. In Kerala, the Nedumangadu Magistrate Court found former Kerala Transport Minister and present MLA Antony Raju guilty in an evidence tampering case. The case started from an incident that took place in 1990, when an Australian man was arrested at Thiruvananthapuram airport for allegedly smuggling drugs by concealing them in his undergarments.

India stands on the cusp of a major defence procurement from Israel, encompassing SPICE-1000 precision-guided bombs alongside potential acquisitions of Rampage, Air LORA, and Ice Breaker missiles for the Indian Air Force (IAF).The Defence Acquisition Council, under Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has greenlit an $8.7 billion package that includes air-to-air missiles, loitering munitions, radars and simulators.
