Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha hold discussion on Motion of Thanks to the President’s address to the joint sitting of Parliament. Leader of Opposition and Congress Leader Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue of unemployment, price rise of commodities and depreciation of India rupee against US dollar.
2. The Government has informed the Lok Sabha that the estimated unemployment rate has decreased from 6 per cent five years ago to 3.2 per cent during the last fiscal.

Telangana Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy revealed that 56.33% of the state’s population belongs to Backward Classes, as per findings of the caste census conducted in November and December 2024.
11. Delhi Metro will begin operations at 4:00 AM on all lines from their terminal stations on polling and counting days of the Delhi Assembly Elections to assist staff deployed for election duty. Trains will run every 30 minutes on all lines until 6:00 AM, after which regular services will be available throughout the day.
The 2025 Delhi Legislative Assembly election for all 70 constituencies is scheduled to be held Tomorrow on 5 February 2025. Results will be declared on 8 February 2025.
12. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi.

Jammu & Kashmir, an ex-serviceman was killed on Monday in a terrorist attack in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Security sources said terrorists attacked the ex-serviceman along with his wife and daughter in the Behibagh area of Kulgam. After the attack, all three were taken to the hospital in a wounded condition, where the ex-serviceman succumbed to critical injuries.

RAMAYANA The Legend of Prince Rama to screen at Parliament, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, special invitees will attend it. Movie is directed by Yugo Sako, Ram Mohan and Koichi Sasaki. Movie distribution company Geek Pictures on Sunday said it is set to organise a special screening of the (1993 Japanese-Indian anime film) Ramayana on 15 February.

1. The third Indian nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) is set to be inducted this year, The Indian Navy currently operates two SSBNs – INS Arihant and INS Arighat – while the third one INS Aridhaman has been undergoing trials.

Months after an MQ-9B Sea Guardian drone crashed into the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Navy has received a replacement for the high-altitude long-endurance surveillance platform from its US-based manufacturer General Atomics. One of the two MQ-9B drones that the Indian Navy had taken on lease was lost in a ‘controlled ditching’ at sea following a technical snag in mid-September last year.
