1. *Social media users are now calling for a boycott Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Raksha Bandhan’ is set to release on 11th August 2022* , the day of festival that celebrates bond between brother and sister. However, just days before its theatrical release the film has run into controversy after the film writer Kanika Dhillon’s Hinduphobic tweets have gone viral on social media.

But, social media users are now calling for a boycott of the movie over the past tweets of its writer Kanika Dhillon. They argued that while Dhillon has been making money off Hindus, she has been at the forefront of making derogatory remarks against the same community. She makes gaumutra, gaumata jibes.

2. Kangana Ranaut has claimed that Aamir Khan himself has orchestrated the trend around boycotting his upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha. The film is an official Hindi remake of 1994 Hollywood film Forrest Gump that starred Tom Hanks in the lead role.

1. INDIAN NAVY SHIPS ON SAIL TO CELEBRATE 75TH INDEPENDENCE DAY IN SIX CONTINENTS: Warships will hoist Tri-colour and perform other ceremonial activities after berthing at San Diego in United States, in Brazil, Muscat, London and Perth.

INS Tarkash which would be at Brazil on August 15, while INS Tharangini will dock at London and INS Sumedha at Perth, revealed Navy officials.

2. ASIA’S 2 BIGGEST MILITARIES ARE BOTH GETTING NEW AIRCRAFT CARRIERS:. China’s and India’s navies have both received new aircraft carriers in recent weeks. The Chinese carrier Fujian and the Indian flattop Vikrant are both domestically designed and built.

Fujian is China’s third aircraft carrier and the first to be totally designed and built domestically. It symbolizes the Chinese military’s rapid expansion and is seen as a potential rival to the US Navy’s nuclear-powered supercarriers.

Vikrant is also domestically designed and built, and its arrival is a major milestone for India, which is Asia’s second largest military power and shares a long and contentious border with China.

3. The hypersonic version of India’s BrahMos cruise missile, the BrahMos-II, is likely to have the same performance characteristics as Russia’s Tsirkon (Zircon) missile, the CEO of BrahMos Aerospace, Atul Rane, told.

4. The Indo-US joint exercise is known as ‘Yudh Abhyas’ and it will be the 15th edition this year. The joint exercise is being planned from 14 to 31 October, during which Indian and American troops will carry out ‘manoeuvres to exploit the full scope’ of high-altitude warfare.

5. As the registration process for the Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) and Matric Recruit (MR) under the Agniveer scheme concluded on Wednesday, the Indian Navy has received over 80,000 applications from women candidates, informed the officials.
