The Loksabha on 03 Aug passed :
The Essential Defence Services Bill, 2021 : Essentially, the Essential Defence Services Bill is aimed at preventing the staff of the government-owned ordnance factories from going on a strike. Around 70,000 people work with the 41 ordnance factories around the country.

5. The Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2021 , which proposes to abolish certain more tribunals and authorities and to provide for a mechanism to file appeal directly to the Commercial Court or the High Court.

6. Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Bill, 2021. : Amendment Bill provides district and additional district magistrates the power to issue adoption orders and examine the work of various child welfare authorities, including the child welfare committee and district child protection unit. It also categorises many undefined crimes where no minimum sentence was prescribed.

7. Factoring Amendment Bill, 2021 : The passed Bill in the Rajya Sabha on July 28. It aims to aid the MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) sector.

8. The General Insurance Business (Nationalisation) Amendment Bill, 2021: on 02 Aug, Lok Sabha passed the Bill which will allow the govt to reduce its share in the state-owned general insurance companies, helping achieve its divestment targets. Divestment refers to the government’s selling of part of its ownership in state-run corporations.

9. Law & Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju will attend the eighth meeting of Ministers of Justice of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on 06 August.

17. An Army helicopter crashed in the Ranjit Sagar Dam lake in Pathankot at 10.35 am on 03 Aug (Tuesday).
The pilot and the co-pilot are missing. Divers of the dam have been pressed into action to look for them. The chopper belonged to the 254 Army Aviation Squadron and had taken off from Mamun cantonment 10 minutes before it came down.
