1. Coal Ministry has received 26 bids for auction of eleven Coal Mines for Sale of Coal. Two or more bids have been received for five coal mines. The process of 4th tranche of auction of coal mines for sale of coal was launched by the Nominated Authority, Ministry of Coal on 16th December last year.
2. PM Modi held a high level meeting on the Ukraine crisis on Wednesday. Mr Modi has been continuously chairing high level meetings since the Ukraine crisis began.
3. *GUJARAT* : The Budget Session of Gujarat Legislative Assembly began on Wednesday. Governor Acharya Devvrat addressed the assembly on the first day of the session.
4. *HIMACHAL* : Chief Minister Jairam Thakur on Wednesday said that no student from the state was stranded in Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv.
5. *J&K: Terrorists shoot dead panchayat member at his home in J&K’s Kulgam* : A panchayat member in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district was shot dead by terrorists on Wednesday, officials said. Mohammad Yaqub Dar was critically injured after he was attacked at his residence. He was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.
6. *MANIPUR* : The Election Commission is likely to take a decision on re-polling at nine booths in Manipur’s Churachandpur district where clashes reportedly took place during elections. These include Songsang Mission School, Maite ME School and Tinsuong ME School in the Thanlon (ST) Assembly Constituency; Majuron Kuki, Khoirentak, Molsang, Leinom in the Henglep (ST) Assembly Constituency; and Teikot and Maukot in the Singhat (ST) Assembly Constituency.
7. The polling for the 2nd phase election in Manipur will be held on Saturday. The Silence Period will be commenced from Thursday evening and all the political parties have intensified the election campaign in all ten districts.
8. *UTTAR PRADESH* , all the necessary preparations have been made for the Sixth of the Seven-Phase polling of Assembly Elections. The polling will be conducted from 7.00 A.M. to 6.00 P.M. The Sixth Phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh will be conducted in 57 Assembly Constituencies including 11 ACs reserved for the Scheduled Castes from 10 districts.
9. *TELANGANA* : The presentation of Budget 2022-23 in the Legislative Assembly on March 7, finance minister T. Harish Rao and department officials are giving final touches to present a ‘populist budget’ with more allocations to welfare schemes.

10. Foreign investors pulled out more than 35,500 crore rupees from the Indian capital markets so far in February. According to the depositories data, Foreign Portfolio investors, or FPIs, pulled out 31,158 crore.
11. Petrol and diesel price hikes are likely to resume after state elections get over next week to bridge the Rs 9 a litre gap created by international oil prices soaring past USD 100 a barrel. International crude oil prices shot above USD 110 a barrel for the first time since mid-2014 on fears that oil and gas supplies from energy giant Russia could be disrupted, either by the conflict in Ukraine or retaliatory western sanctions

12. Actor Prabhas during the launch event of his upcoming movie ‘Radhe Shyam’ said Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are his inspirations from Bollywood for his new movie. The actor also emphasised on the importance of Indian films and talked about the success of Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa’.
The release of Prabhas and Pooja Hegde-starrer romantic drama “Radhe Shyam” the film is now scheduled to be released on 11 March 2022.
13.Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Prithviraj’ to release on June 3 :
‘Prithviraj’ also features former Miss World Manushi Chhillar and actor Sanjay Dutt.
14. Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan-1’ will receive a theatrical release on September 30. The film is directed by Mani Ratnam. It will also feature Vikram, Jayam Ravi and Sobhita Dhulipala. The film is an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel ‘Ponniyin Selvan
DEFENCE:
15. EXERCISE VAYU SHAKTI: A total of 148 aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) will demonstrate their capabilities at Exercise Vayu Shakti that will take place at Pokharan range in Jaisalmer near the India-Pakistan border on March 7. The Rafale aircraft will participate in this exercise for the first time. It also includes 24 helicopters, seven transport aircraft and four remotely-piloted aircraft will also take part in the exercise and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest.
16 .NS VISAKHAPATNAM
India’s indigenous INS Visakhapatnam was dedicated to the City of Destiny, formally by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Jagan Mohan Reddy, in a formal ceremony at the Naval Dockyard.
INS Visakhapatnam was commissioned in 2021. It will help the Indian Navy in dealing with emerging threats in Indian Ocean Region (IOR). INS Visakhapatnam is India’s first among four stealth guided missile destroyers under Project 15B. It has been constructed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Mumbai.
It has a displacement of 7, 400 tonnes. measures 163m in length while 17m in breadth. It has the capability of speed in excess of 30 knots. It has anti-submarine warfare capabilities
INS is also equipped to be deployed to fight in Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) warfare conditions
17. A Driver Night Sight for T series Tanks and BMPs; MKU Ltd., a global defence and homeland security company, is the first private sector company to receive the TOT (Transfer Of Technologies) of Driver Night Sight for T-90 Bhishma Tanks from IRDE (Instruments Research & Development Establishment), DRDO (Defence Research & Development Organisation), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, for their Netro TD-5100 Driver Night Sight.
18. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has sent relief material to Ukraine. The NDRF has provided relief material including blankets, sleeping mats and solar study lamps for the people of Ukraine.
