1. National COVID-19 vaccination coverage crosses 125 crore doses mark; Recovery rate stands at 98.35%
2. President Ram Nath Kovind will visit Maharashtra on December 8. He will travel to the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai and award the President’s Standard to the 22nd Missile Vessel Squadron (MVS), also known as the Killer Squadron, at a ceremonial parade. Later in the day, Kovind will visit Raigad Fort to pay his respects to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

5. Parliament has passed the Dam Safety Bill, 2019 with the Rajya Sabha approving it on 02 Dec. The House also approved the amendments moved by the government to the bill. The Lok Sabha had given its nod to the Bill in 2019. The bill provides for surveillance, inspection, operation and maintenance of the specified dam for prevention of dam failure related disasters and for institutional mechanism to ensure their safe functioning.
6. J& K : Terrorist commander of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) Yasir Parray and a foreign ultra were killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, police said. The encounter took place at Qasbayar area of the south Kashmir district.
7. MAHARASHTRA : Aryan Khan drug case: Witness Kiran Gosavi arrested in Pune. Gosavi, allegedly on the run, was arrested on October 28 in a cheating case from 2018 when he had allegedly duped one Chinmay Deshmukh of ₹18 lakh under the pretext of giving him a job in Malaysia.
8. The Maharashtra govt has suspended DG, Home Guard, Param Bir Singh. The government has initiated disciplinary proceedings in respect of certain irregularities and lapses committed by him, including unauthorised absence from duty.
9. KARNATAKA : Two Omicron cases in Karnataka: One is local doctor with no travel history, another came from S Africa. A 66-YEAR-OLD South African national, who arrived in Bengaluru via Dubai last month, and a 46-year-old doctor at a private hospital in the city, with no travel history, are the first two cases of Omicron to be detected in India.
10. KERALA: P Vijayan-led Kerala government on Thursday signed an MoU with German Federal Employment Agency for the recruitment of nurses from the state. The Chief Minister said in a Facebook post that the German scheme ‘Triple Win’ can provide over 10,000 employment opportunities for nurses.

13. The GST revenue for the month of November 2021 was Rs 1,31,526 crores. This is the second highest collection since the introduction of GST in the country. The first highest collection was in April 2021.

17. French frigate leaves India after 12-day engagement with Indian Navy
:. Horizon-class French frigate FS Chevalier Paul has departed India after concluding a 12-day-long extensive engagement with the Indian Navy, The warship was part of a maritime partnership exercise with the Indian Naval Ship Kolkata in the Arabian Sea besides undertaking port calls at Mumbai and Kochi.
