This service delivers personalised, real-time weather and climate information to smallholder farmers. It aims to help them adapt to increasing climate variability and improve agricultural productivity.
7. The Union government has approved the establishment of PM Ekta Malls in 27 states under the ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) initiative. This move aims to promote indigenous products, Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged items and local handicrafts through dedicated retail spaces. Nearly ₹4,796 crore was sanctioned for these projects in the fiscal year 2023-24.
8. The Kerala High Court has recently mandated urgent steps for the protection of the Ashtamudi wetland. This follows a public interest litigation denoting severe pollution, encroachments, and ecological degradation of the wetland. The court directed the state government and the State Wetland Authority Kerala (SWAK) to establish a dedicated management unit and prepare an integrated conservation plan within strict timelines.
9. The Odisha government has announced plans to introduce tigers into Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary in Bargarh district.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved a Central Sector Scheme to provide Rs. 2000 crore as grant-in-aid to the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC). This scheme will run from 2025-26 to 2028-29 with Rs. 500 crore allocated each year. The grant will enable NCDC to raise Rs. 20,000 crore from the open market, which will be used to extend loans to cooperatives across India.
11. Due to active monsoon conditions in Himachal Pradesh, normal life has been severely disrupted. Continuous rainfall has caused rivers and streams to swell, and landslides at multiple locations have blocked over 400 roads across the state, including one national highway.

1. Former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna sentenced to life imprisonment in a rape case by a special court in Bengaluru. Prajwal Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, was convicted for repeated rape and abusing his position of power.
2. Police have arrested a total of 18 persons and registered five FIRs against more than 500 individuals in connection with the communal violence in Yavat village of Pune district that broke out over an alleged objectionable status on a social messaging platform.
3. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has stated that “No Objection Certificate” has not been issued to its soldier Munir Ahmed for marrying a Pakistan national.
The Force has also described the dismissal order of Munir Ahmed as “correct as per rules and in order” and has sought rejection of the writ petition filed by him (Munir).
