7. The Supreme Court refused to entertain a plea seeking to adopt a uniform judicial code across India, and the plea was later withdrawn. The plea asked all High Courts to adopt uniform procedures, use common phrases and make the court fee uniform.

8. Supreme Court will hear a plea filed by We The Citizens, an NGO, through advocate Barun Kumar Sinha, seeking direction to the government to resettle Kashmiri Hindus and Sikhs. It seeks rehabilitation of those who migrated during the 1990 exodus and after from Kashmir to any part of the country. The case will be heard on September 2.

10. ASSAM : Section 144 of the CrPC was imposed in Assam’s Bongaigaon on Thursday after the district administration demolished a madrasa in the area. There is likelihood of breach of peace in Bongaigaon due to possible activities by fundamentalist organisations, the District Magistrate said. The magistrate imposed a ban on assembly of five or more people in public places.

1. The National Investigation Agency has announced 25 lakh rupees cash reward on underworld gangster Dawood Ibrahim. The reward has been announced for giving information about him. The agency also announced a reward of 20 lakh rupees on Dawood’s associate Chhota Shakeel.

Dawood Ibrahim and others are working in active collaboration with international terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Al Qaeda.

They are involved in various terrorism and criminal activities including arms smuggling, narco terrorism, underworld criminal syndicate, money laundering, circulation of FICN and unauthorised possession of key assets for raising terror funds.

1. PM Modi will commission the first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant today at the Cochin Shipyard, the largest ship ever built in the maritime history of the country. He will also unveil the new Naval ensign of the Indian Navy.

The 262 meters long and 15-story high INS Vikrant, with a flight deck comparable to two football fields with an angled sky jump, is quite an engineering and ship-building marvel. INS Vikrant is more than five times the size of any warship ever built in the country. India now joins a select group of countries like The US, Russia, China, France, and the UK that can indigenously design, build and integrate an aircraft carrier.

The INS vikrant will be fully combat-ready after the MIG-29 Supersonic fighters complete crucial flight trials from her sprawling deck, and the aircraft carrier will be equipped with all her high-tech weapons like the Barak-8 surface-to-air missile system by around mid-2023.

2. The Cabinet Committee on Security has approved Tejas Mark-2 Project. The Committee has sanctioned 6500 crore rupees for designing and developing Tejas Mark-2 fighter jet with prototypes, flight testing, and certification. The allocation comes in addition to the existing 2500 crore rupees sanctioned to HAL.

3. Home Minister Amit Shah launched the Central Armed Police Forces’ eAwas web-portal in New Delhi on 01 Sep. the Government of India has started the ‘Ayushman CAPF’ scheme to provide better medical facilities to families of Jawans, under which more than 35 lakh Ayushman Cards have been distributed to 10 lakh personnel.
